Hello my raw friends! I just got another signup for Alissa's chef certification course. For those of you who are driving distance to Jax (however you define it, last time, someone drove FIVE hours to get to the instructor certification classes!!)... don't wait!
Alissa Cohen's Living on Live Food Chef Certification is THE best introductory course to raw food I have found anywhere. I had already had Alissa's book for six months, been 100% raw, made tons of recipes... and I still was Amazingly Blessed to take the chef certification class right outside of Boston with Adrienne Martin (Her page is here if you're near Boston!!). And I haven't looked back. It answered sooooo many of the questions.
That's why, the moment I had the extra money, I signed up for instructor certification. Then, signed up for teacher certification with Alissa in 2007. Not a penny wasted, even taking the certification with teachers and then REPEATING the info with Alissa.
Seriously.
So, don't wait! If you have ANY lingering questions, there is a good chance you'd get your questions answered and make new friends while you're at it. :)

That's so awesome Eva! So glad your classes are going so well and you loved your classes with Alissa as well!! It's very encouraging to read this! I am taking Alissa's 4 day classes (3 days in Kittery and one day at Grezzo) at the end of August and I can't wait. I hope that I will eventually be teaching raw food classes in the Burlington Vermont area :)

Seriously, Joyce... every time I have taken the time and money to attend a raw food class has been worth it. Even when I've had to give MANY things up to do it. Over a period of a little over two years, I spent OVER $10,000 on travel to and tuition for raw food classes. There is not one I regret. You WILL have students, but you've got to look for them and make things happen.
I spend a lot of time talking about that in the Level 2 class. People want the info, so it's a no brainer, as long as you know where to find them!
I'm sure you'll have fun in the classes. I couldn't afford the class directly with Alissa when I first wanted to take it. There was NO way, so I took less expensive classes and kept on keeping on.
You're so lucky you're in a place to do it now! :)

Hi Eva, thanks for the post! And I hear ya about the $10K! I'm not there but I just spent a quarter of that on my first set of 4 classes coming up! Eeek! I can't really afford this but luckily I could put it on my credit card and will pay it off by fall. I feel like doing something drastic would light the fire under my pants...as the saying sorta goes :)
Have fun in Brazil and do keep us posted on your travels! I really hope to go there someday for a raw holiday!!
Joyce

You got it! I think sometimes the credit card is worth it... but not always!

Just got another signup for the Level 1 classes... if you're anywhere near Jacksonville and thinking about it... don't wait too long! There are only a few spots left! :)
-
And just got a signup for Level 2... only 1-3 spots left (2 of the 3 are pending, depending on if one of the Level 1 Chef grads will do Level 2 for the next date with her college-age son)!

I have a Level 1 and Level 2 class THIS weekend in Jacksonville. The people who are coming are driving quite a ways to take the classes with me. There is ONE spot left in the Level 1 and ONE spot left in the Level 2 class. If you can make it, this will be one of the best experiences of your life.
Hope to see you!
:)
