Walk the walk!
Just great what you are doing for your health and spiritual well-being. Honoring the needs of the body IS a spiritual exercise. I found that after walking for many years through the same stretch of parkland with lots of trees around, I started to see nature more clearly and appreciate it more and more. Funny how slowly but surely, just walking in nature over a long period seems to wake up the senses as to how beautiful it is. It was the same nature all along. I guess it was me who 'changed'. LOL. Keep it up, Gabriele! =)

Brag away girl!!!!! WOweeee I am inspired.....good for you....bravo.

thank you for all the nice comments. That was an older post, but we've been keeping it up and walking for over 2 months now, i have lost 30 pounds. It is so true, i never appreciated nature before, and now i'm itching to go out after work every single day. I feel the breezes, the warmth of the sun on my face (after being in an office all day), we even go in the rain. It's wonderful. I love it.

So what have you been eating?

Myca, you ask what i've been eating. I am not totally raw, i am new to this, i am new to being a vegetarian, and new to being a vegan!!! So raw is something i read about and try to do to some extent...... actually the only thing i can't tear myself away from is whole wheat bread and hummus (neither one raw) but at least vegan. In the morning i start every day with a smoothie, sometimes green, sometimes red, and another one at night after my walk. Lunch is sometimes a salad and oh yes, sometimes an unraw oatmeal, i'm getting sick of those though, they don't taste good. I'm still struggling to find a salad dressing that i like, i've made so many and all are disasters.....i love honey mustard but the one i make is really a joke, blech.
i must eat 4 bananas a day, whereas previously if i ate a single banana in a year it was a lot, no exaggeration. So i guess i'm moving in the right direction. I am seriously watching my fat/nut/seed intake as i'm trying to lose weight still.

It's me again!!! I have to brag again, the only other people i can brag to are my immediate family (hubby and grown kids), nobody at work is noticing anything and the most i will tell them is that i'm a vegetarian, they can hardly handle that, let alone raw eating or vegan, i can already see it in their eyes.
Well.........i have lost another 5 pounds, making it 35 pounds that i've lost. Yesterday was the most glorious day outside i have ever seen, the hubby was in NJ still and so i put on my ipod and i walked 4 miles, half dancing, half skipping along, and then walked with the hubby when he got home, another 2 miles. (boy are my legs sore too). Anyway, it looks like another beautiful day and can't wait to get out there. I only have 85 more pounds to lose, that sounds a lot better than 120 to lose, right??
And Tashimoto, you are so right about noticing nature. We live directly on a big nature park right behind our house (in the suburbs of DC) and i took it for granted for 20 years, preferring to eat chocolate instead. Now, i notice the grass, the height of it, how it smells when it's cut, the small animals scurrying about, the deer hiding in the bushes, the creek burbling along (robert frost here), it is all so gorgeous that even on a cool, rainy day i love the beauty of it out there, i am a changed person. I feel so LIGHT!!
thanks everyone for listening....
