    Wihi, I'm first!

I'm a bit stressed out right now, and my stomach is totally reacting on all the inner stress. As i mentioned yesterday i'm leaving town for over a month next weekend, and i still don't have anywhere to stay when i get there (i'm taking a summer class at the university). But, hopefully it will calm down and one of the people whom i've contacted will let me stay at their house.

    Foods today:

B -soaked oats w banana, kiwi, almonds and an avocado for "dessert"
    S - Banana
    L - Carrot/celery/broccoli salad
S - Too many apricots, rasins and almonds. Will not buy dried fruits for a while now. I only overeat and feel sick. and they're not even that good...
    D - avocados and apple
    S - apple slices w carob/honey cream

Yeh, i'm off to figure out what the hick i've done wrong with the sock i'm knitting.
    Peace

Springtime, I truly believe that if you trust in the universe and follow your instincts, everything will work out as it is meant to. Taking risks is what life is all about- and you can make it happen!

I am going through some detox. I had cooked cravings today for the first time since starting the challenge, plus my skin looks pretty crappy and I feel so emotional and drained. But the good thing about detox, aside from getting the bad stuff out, is that I always lose weight after a detox period! Anyway, onto today's food:

-green smoothie w/ 3 bananas, frozen strawberries/blueberries/mango, kale. 3 more bananas.
-Lara bar- last one for a loooong time (sniff, sniff) b/c I found out they aren't completely raw Plus a banana, a nectarine and 2 apples.
    -banana & a couple baby carrots w/ 2 T guacamole
-huuuuge salad w/ baby romaine, half a red pepper, a tomato, mushrooms, carrots & vinegar; banana

I think Meow is addicted to bananas
    I am too

B-Pear, banana, pineapple, green chard, celery, dates, avocado and chia seeds

L-1 slice raw pizza: this was very good but I wish I had 3 slices of it but at $7.95 a slice I decided to treat it only as an appetizer. I was very disappointed in some sprouted seed crackers I bought from Goraw, they had Braggs Liquid Aminos in them and the package said "certified organic". I find this very misleading and I contacted the company to discuss this and they did try to call me back so I give them some credit. I will call them back on Monday and will post details here. I don't think I am going to buy any commercial raw prepared foods, I don't find them very fresh or pallitable. I have faith that all of you will continue to inspire me to prepare them for myself. I'm going to make crackers this weekend.

    S- Plum, 5 dates w/ almond butter

D-Green salad, sunflower sprouts, cucumber, squash, green and red grapes, grape tomatoes oil & ACV and a dolop of raw ranch veggie dressing

    S-Seedless watermelon

    red grapes
salad with shredded carrot, shredded red cabbage, ½ avocado, dulse dressing
    raw Tropical Torte

Spiral slicer zucchini with tomato sauce (1/2 mango, 1 tomato, oregano,
    salt, shitake mushroom stems)
    jonagold apple
    60 oz water

    Green Smoothie:
    Cilantro
    Cherries
    Chia
    Revitaphi
Fruits of the Earth by Health Force

    Other Amazing Food:
    Minty Hemp
    Chocolate Bliss
    Gia’s Broth
    Raw Pizza
    Raw Lasagna
    Bliss Salad
    Raw Strawberry Ice cream
    Raw Mango Cobbler

As you can see, I had an amazing meal at Bliss Raw Cafe tonight! Just so you know, I share all this food with Bryan:) I bought some magnetic hematite Jewelry from a person I met at bliss . . . this is so synchronistic because earlier today I had a desire to purchase some hematite I could wear! It is a very grounding stone, I can feel a difference in my energy. I love synchronicities! To me they are a sign I am on my right path.

Today I figured out a helpful mantra. In the heat of the moment, when I'm confronted by a big plate of free cooked food or some dead slice of cake that awakens an old addictive craving, I just ask myself: "Do I want to feel good today or feel bad today?" Because that is, for me, what it boils down to. When i eat raw I feel awesome, and when I don't i feel lethargic and moody.

Then I conjure up a picture of an antelope. For some reason, the antelope is like my raw spirit animal. When I eat right, I feel like one, springy and exuberant and infused with energy. I aspire to be an antelope in human form. So do I want to feel alive like an antelope today or feel like shit today? This one questiong usually puts things back into perspective for me, even at those bingy moments when my hands seem to reach out before my heart can catch up.

    today I ate
.some delicious crackers made from dehydrated raw saurkraut
.raspberries and strawberries from the garden
    .apples
.salad with just lemon as a dressing (so nice on a hot day)
    .green kombucha

Redrocket- I am addicted to bananas! They are always my go-to food!

carolv- there is a thread in the raw food discussion forum with a statement fromthe Lara Bar website saying that not all the ingredients are actually raw. They say that they can't be sure whether the cashews are raw or not (most "raw" cashews are actually heated to open the shells), and they also use roasted cocoa powder in the chocolate coconut bars and I think a couple other ingredients are heated and overly processed as well. It's disappointing b/c if you just read what the label says it seems that they are completely raw except for the pb cookie flavor.

Hmmm, no day 13 yet. Oh well, I forgot to post yesterday anyway. I had a really hungry day and overdid it a bit. Also stayed up way too late last night, and felt groggy this a.m.

B - usual green smoothie, with spinach this time
S - small slice of a mini watermelon offered by a co-worker (it was terrible, and chemically-smelling, but I didn't want to refuse)
S - slice of buckwheat/zucchini bread with cashew butter
L - giant salad at Whole Foods. Felt tempted by the cooked vegan stuff on offer for the same price per weight, but managed to resist.
    S - banana
D - giant salad with red leaf, mixed greens, whole avocado, sunflower sprouts, heirloom tomato, spiraled zucchini and yam, pesto and miso dressings
S - chocolate young coconut ice cream
S - sliced strawberries and mango with young coconut cream

This was day one for me....thanks for letting me jump into the middle of things! I got home from a three day trip late thursday night, so was not too well prepared Friday morning, which came back to bite me in the posterior!

Breakfast: One banana and a handful of walnuts, 4 cups water

Went to donate plasma and then shopping at Walmart......BAD IDEA.

Started getting very hungry in Walmart. Bought a peach and ate it. Got through the line and began to feel sweaty and REALLY hungry. Sat down and started eating a green pepper (I had no fruit in my bags!).
Pretty soon I could tell I was going to kiss the floor if I didn't get something in me soon....shakiness, tunnel vision, etc I staggered to the nearest checker, threw a dollar at her and grabbed a Snickers Bar. I lay down on a bench and tried to eat it but my mouth was so dry! A very nice checker came over and asked me if I was ok, and I told her I was having a low blood sugar reaction and needed some water. She bought me water and I got it and the Snickers down and soon began to feel better, Whew, BUT I was left with a migraine, ick.

Supper: Green salad with lettuce, tomatoes, green pepper, avocado, and vinaigrette dressing. Walnuts.

So that was my day 1! I am counting it because the Snickers did not tempt me at all, it was purely medicinal!
