Default totally raw this summer !

    Hi I'm new here.
I just turned 15 and next year I will be transferring to a private school for my sophomore through senior year. I'm really heavy and I have problems with acne, keratosis pilaris, depression, etc. I thought that going raw would be a good way to start with a clean slate next year. I've been eating 100% raw for the past few days and I feel amazing! I plan on sticking it out for at least the entire summer and most likely much longer. I have a question though, I ideally need to lose around 50 pounds and a lot of fat. Will the raw food diet help me accomplish my goal this summer?

    Hi!

As long as you eat a good variety of raw food, include lots of greens in your daily eating, and pay attention to your health, raw may very well help you release a good amount of your excess weight.

I know my skin has been clearing up rather well! :)

Don't neglect the rest of it, though - get enough water, get plenty of rest, get some exercise, stay active doing things that interest you, etc.

Are your parents on board for this? If you have any health challenges, make sure your doctor is on board for this, as well. Adding strife into your life around food choices can make matters worse.

Maybe not all 50lbs this summer, but almost definitely a big portion of it.

If you go 100% raw vegan the weight will fly off and your skin will be flawless by Labor Day.

Well the hope is flawless skin...unfortunately some things like keratosis pilaris can take much longer to heal. I don't know if mine will ever be totally gone!

    Hi katenoir ~

eating raw is a very healthy dietary choice. Based on my own personal experience, I recommend taking things very slowly and make sure to keep you calorie intake up - you want to make sure you get enough calories and nutrients. Also, work towards 1 to 2 pounds per week. Too much too fast could have a detrimental effect physically and psychologically. I would also not recommend weighing yourself....
