Hello All: Well two more days until I leave for vacation. I am excited and a bit scared about staying Raw while on vacation. I'm packing some flax bread, Almond butter cookies, Raw Nori Roll sheets and Raw trail mix and that's it. I'll have to eat salad and fruits and sushi rolls and the flax bread topped with various ingriendents. I'm also taking my personal blender so that I can make smoothies and soup and salad dressings. The first two cities won't have any Raw restaurants, but the last city I'm visiting (Atlanta) has a great Raw foods restaurant and Whole Foods, so I'll be o.k. there.
Here's what I'll have today:
B: Green Smoothie
L: Spanish Rice
S: Fruits (lots of it)
D: Strawberry shake
Blessings All

S - Cherries

Day 58
Hi everyone. Day 58 and so far had only slipped up on corn chips last month and immediately got back on track. What I have noticed so far is my skin, hair and nails are stronger. My bags under my eyes are gone. I still have an occasional detox symtom but feeling better most days. My IBD is getting better and my BMs are returning to normal. I still have migraines and hot flashes but I have my suspicions(sp?) on the culprits. I look forward to continuing this path to health and wellness and one day I will be able to help others in need of healing.
Today is light for me.
B- 32 oz smoothie w/ wheatgrass, banana, strawberries, acai, red maca, cam camu, and water
L- Green drink w/ collards, cucs, celery, and watermelon
D- big salad

Day 3 and I'm on a roll again!
I skipped a baby shower this pm so I wouldn't be tempted, but at lunch I sat next to a woman with a bag of cookies and I didn't eat one!!!!!
B: bananas
S: watermelon
L: grapefruit
S: grapes, apple
D: coconut macaroons
S: watermelon
Today was really a mono day, but it worked and I liked it. I tried to time the watermelon so that I wouldn't get gas, but the rest just happened naturally.

Today was soooooo hot and humid another light day,the tuna sandwhich from yesterday made me very sick and today i felt foggy all day, not to mention the humidity making me feel even more blah! I will make a green smoothie drink plenty of water and just call it a day. Friday will be a short work day for me so i will try to get a head start on dehydrating this weekend, i am thinking flaxseed crackers and fruit to get the ball rolling lol lol:)

I'm back
After some server problems last week and a crazt busy kiddo week, I am back to posting. I have been going strong though and have lost 9 pounds since May 5th or so. Cool, huh!
What I ate today:
lara bar (busy day so this was the answer)
Huge salad with fresh parsley, peppers, cucumbers and olive oil dressing
raw crackers- ginger snaps from Go Raw- my fave right now.
too full for dinner from huge salad.
herbal tea is going to be it for the night.
FYI= since I did not get to post for awhile: I got my dehydrator- yeah- what a difference in my raw experience that has been! I also finally got the Alissa book and DVD in so I have been busy reading and watching. I am blown away at her philosophy- it is so freeing. I was trying to follow proper food combining from the get go and it was so difficult for me as a beginner, that I stopped doing raw altogether because I was either not eating or feeling guilty that I had combined improperly. I really have been freed by Alissa's approach that proper combining is the ultimate goal and we will naturally gravitate that way, but when beginning, just eat raw food! I have also overcome so many temptations this week just by following her advice to eat enough and have food made. It has made all the difference since the last time I was doing raw. Such a positive experience thanks to her. In the past few days, I am not craving any cooked foods. It is really cool.
My clothes are very loose-even a size 6 is loose. Who would have thought! I am very short so I am still a little heavy for my height, but I am so pleased with this experience and how I feel. I feel like I have crossed a major hurdle now that I am half way through the 30 days and everything is falling in to place including the weight. I am still tired though. This could be because I was anemic before I started (again). Raw food has been the only way to keep me close to normal on my hemoglobin. When I was chowing down on meat on the low carb diet, I was still severely anemic. That should be proof that meat is not the remedy.
I was on low carb, because it helped my hiatal hernia and I was able to stay off medicine. This raw food thing has messed with my reflux. Agave nectar is really not agreeing with me in terms of the acid reflux. Does anyone have advice regarding acid reflux on this diet?
