    Default Wheatgrass: Blender or juicer?

So I'm starting to grow some of my own wheatgrass, and I know that people use both the special crank juicers but also blenders (such as a blendtec or vitamix) to prepare their juice.

Does anyone here have opinions/links to information as to whether one of these two methods is superior to the other? Also, do both methods require the same amount of raw wheatgrass for one serving of juice? If you're using a blender, is there an ideal amount of water that should be used? I've watched videos on youtube of people using the blenders, and I guess I'm wondering if you end up losing nutrients when you strain it or something, though I know that the pulp can't be digested. I also wonder if using the powdered form still has the same benefits.

Sorry if these questions sound stupid, and thanks for any help,

    Jeffrey

crank is waaaaaaaaaaay healthier as it doesn't heat the grass like the blenders do.

powder definitely doesn't have the same benefits... but again... it's better than nothing!

    Aleesha,

My blender doesn't heat the wheatgrass! It's a Vita-Mix. I put just the tiniest amt of orange juice or something in the bottom, as well as cut up a lemon. I'm literally drinking some now and it did not get warm.

Darn. I posted a similar question elsewhere. Could've put it under this thread. Am anxiously awaiting someone's "science" behind juicing vs blending/straining wheatgrass.....

I'll probably just end up doing a little of both....sigh...And I wonder if anyone TRULY knows. Maybe the blender and juicer companies would want to research it. You know big pharma doesn't want to....LOL

I agree that powder is better than nothing, but you know in your heart, fresh is better.
