May 13th 2009 Raw Challenge - Day Thirteen

First 
I just had my daily pineapple.
Yesterday, I found a new organic shop in town, that sells overripe fruits half price. Good for me, since I eat fruits normally the same day I buy them and I like them better when they are a bit overripe as oposed to the hard, green, unripe fruits you normally get.
I also found out that my gustative nerve has adjusted: Yesterday, I ate a cucumber with wild greens. Before I was raw, I used to eat cucumbers only with salt, now, I found out that they already taste quite salty by themselves.

oh! happy birthday!
Today is my last day of school and tomorrow I fly out to go visit my folks. I am exhausted and ready for SUMMER! I also told my mom about my new eating habits, and she's super supportive, and I can expect a house full of fruits and vegetables when I get there. moms rule.

Hello all: What a great day to be alive. We are expecting triple digit temperatures this weekend so Summer has unofficially arrived in the Bay Area. San Francisco is known for it's cool temperatres, even in the Summer so when we get a heat wave it is something to talk about.
Today is my first appointment with a nautropath. I've wanted to see one for quite some time. Sick and tired of the traditional doctors. I'm really excited.
Here is my menu for today:
B: Green Smoothie
S: Fruit
L: Spanish Rice, Pesto Pasta, Salad
S: Almond-Walnut cookie
D: ?
Exercise: Walked Lake Merritt, weight machines, stretching.
I'm preparing for my vacation which starts next week. I'm taking alot of food with me. I'm getting nervous about leaving the confines of my kitchen where I can prepare my wonderful food. This will be quite a challenge for me!!!!

Happy Birthday jurence!
I went to bed with an enormous headache, and since today is my day off i decided i'd sleep in. So i slept 'til 11, which was wonderful, haven't allowed myself to do that in a long while. Dry brushed and had a bath, trying to use the last of my chemical, yet oh-so-sweet-smelling chocolate bubble bath. My skin i soooo soft now..
Yesterday a lady from a health clinic where they do colonics called me, because i'd e-mailed and asked a lot of questions. Really sweet lady, but i have to convince myself to actually go get one. When i've looked into chineese face- and toung diagnosis it seems my body is signalling that there's something going on in my bowels that needs to be taken care of. (cracks down the middle of the toung and tiny bumps all over my cheeks, like acne, but not realy visible)
Foods today:
B - 1/2 cantaloupe
L - salad buffet. I guess a few non-raw dressings slipped in, but nothing much.
S - cacao-coco snack (posted in recipe section) and nettle/mint tea
D - salad of sauerkraut, parsnip/chili dip, arugula, apple, carrot and avocado
S - i've been snacking all evening: figs, dates, apple, kiwi, carrot, almond, coconut oil (I just can't get enough! All my life i've been a coconut junkie! maybe i have the hugest craving for lauric acid?)

Feeling great today. I made hummus yesterday...its okay but I need to doctor it up alittle. I will eat today: salad, guac, another salad.

good morning all!
great day so far - started with a short yoga practice, then off to work with a bag of bfast, lunch, and snacking goodies:
b - fruit salad using up fruits lying around kitchen: pear, apple, kiwi, banana - delicious!
s - ani's breakfast toast with avo and him. sea salt
l - tabbouleh, few leftover flax crackers, and olives
d - big salad
s - 2-3 dates with almond butter on the inside (a new discovery - yum!)

Today is day 10 for me. Things are going well, although I have noticed that my skin has been really oily for the past couple of days. I'm sure this will pass quickly. I'm feeling good and things are getting easier.
B- GS - spinach, banana, melon, pineapple
L - Spinach salad w/walnuts and blackberries
S - Red cherries
D - Salad?

I've been bad about posting here, but I'm still RAW!! On Mothers Day I had a small relapse and ate some steamed veggies and Vegan mashed potatoes, but I'm back with the program again..
Todays meals--
B- Melon smoothie (it was okay)
S- strawberries
L- Salad with red lettuce, goji (sp) berries, sesame seeds, cucs, tomatoes, sprouts, carrot slivers, dressing wtih oil and apple cider vinegar
S-Cut up cucumbers
S- Lara bar and apple
D- Raw granola and (non raw) almond milk.
I'm done eating for the night....

Your skin will clear up im sure of it, your body is probably trying to push a lot of gunk out through your pores- if you can try to go to the bathroom and drink lots of water.
