Snakes
Ok, so I know that snakes are naturally raw eaters, but I just had to celebrate and post about this. This is my first year breeding my ball pythons (I breed for color and pattern morphs) and I went through all the steps of introducing the snakes, checking for locks, ect. Finally she ovulated and had her pre-lay shed. But no eggs. I waited and waited, and finally 2 months, 1 week, and 3 days later, she lays 6 eggs!
I got the incubator running and put them in today. 59 days till their expected hatch date! If anyone is interested, I can post pictures of the parents and the eggs. I'm just so excited!
And for anyone who likes rescued animals, I also rescue reptiles and hope to have an actual reptile rescue up and running when my husband and I own a home. I actually have one rescued ball python right now named Ross. He's been adopted by my co-worker and will be going home this summer when my co-worker gets his new apartment. :)

I know, I know, to each his own. Personally, I'll stay as far away from snakes as possible. Congratulations on increasing the snake population?

I understand that many people either fear or dislike snakes and yes, to each their own. I love my snakes. To me they are pieces of living art.

That is where you can find pictures of the breeding pair and the eggs. Pictures of the hatchlings will be posted there once they hatch.

I think snakes are great, beautiful, and have their place in this world. I just haven't ever wanted one for a pet. My adult son used to have a house full of snakes, turtles, lizards, etc. we used to call him the lizard man. lol

"so, I know that snakes are naturally raw eaters"
Aren't all animals naturally raw eaters? lol
Congratulations btw!
~I am only interested in results. If something works, then an explanation is really just an intellectual exercise. ~
