Frozen Snickers!
Frozen Dates are very reminiscent of frozen snickers to me. They are quite nice right out of the freezer . I bet if I made a combo nut butter/honey/cacao and piped them into the pitted dates then froze them it would be quite a wonderful thing ... maybe I'll try that tonight.
Blessings,
Heather

Frozen Snickers!
Wow! these sound so much better than actual Snickers(makes note to try these very soon Another great thing one could co with these is to cut them into 3 or 4 pieces, and top some raw banana ice-cream with these...

OK, I tried this and my whole family gave it a thumbs UP! Very yummy. This is what I did:
Frozen "Snicker" Bites
Frozen Pitted dates (pick ones with the easiest to fill holes)
Chocolate Filling
· ½ cup almond or other nut butter (I used walnut butter)
· ¼ cup cacao powder
· ¼ cup agave or honey
· ½ tsp. vanilla
· dash of sea salt
Combine all filling ingredients in bowl, mix until smooth.
Take chocolate filling and pipe into your frozen dates using a pastry bag or something comparable. Freeze.

Hi, just found this thread.
2 questions: has anyone made almond butter from almonds without buying it? Secondly, do you just thaw these for a few minutes before serving/eating? If so, how many minutes would you say you need before they can be eaten?
Thanks! These sound great. <g>

I just made these today...after killing my last batch in a day!!! What can I say, these are TOOOOOO GOOOOOOD!!!!!!
I made mine with Almond Butter... Just put Almonds in a food processer with a little Sea Salt. The key is to just let it process for around 10 minutes or so... You'll know 'cuz it'll look like Almond Butter... :)
I don't "thaw" my Snicker bites... I just take one from the freezer and pop it in...YUMMY!!!!
Oh, when you make them, be sure to freeze the dates first... It's easier to fill them when they are frozen. I froze mine with the pit inside. Once frozen, take a knife and cut it length-wise and take out the frozen pit. Then, just fill in the hole!!!

Ah, so that's the secret: prolonged processing. I'll have to give it a try though I hope it doesn't burn out my food processor <lol>!
Thanks. :)
