Default Best places to buy raw nuts/seed online

    Hi everyone-

Just checking in to see if anyone buys nuts online; I'd like to purchase a variety. I trying search above but didn't find anything. I'm so disappointed with what's in the grocery stores in my area. I've come across moldy raw nuts so many times; they don't change out the canisters often enough. A relative shipped some nuts to us around November but for some reason they didn't have the best pecan crop this time around. The constant bad experiences at the grocery store have me interested in trying an online shipment - hopefully my budget can handle it. I've seen some places online but wanted to see if anyone had personal recommendations.

I use www.bulkfoods.com I know this wouldn't cut it for some people because of questionably raw stuff, however they are inexpensive and cheap shipping if you order $75, and I've always gotten stuff quickly and in good shape. I'm sure you will get lots of feedback.

    lavendarJ,

At the recommendation of a number of people on various raw forums, I placed my first order last week with nutsonline.com I am very happy with my order. Each item I ordered was in its own sealable bag. Some of the items I ordered were organic dried fruit for variety in the winter for smoothies. I also ordered sesame seeds for making tahini, chia seeds for chia pudding and organic raw shelled pistachios, all of which smelled really fresh when I opened the bags and there was no hint of any rancid or stale odors. I ordered organic sunflower seeds, but I have not opened them yet.

I agree with you about stores not changing out the canisters often enough. A couple of weeks ago, I bought some pumpkin seeds in a bulk bin, that weren't as fresh as they could be. The following week I wanted to buy more, and I ask the person working in the department if I could get a couple of pounds from the box that they keep in the cooler. They happily did this for me.

Back to nutsonline though, I placed my order early in the day, and a few hours later, I received an email that my order was shipped and I received my order the next day. Of course they are in New Jersey and I am in Massachusetts so your shipping time could be longer. I ordered about 8 items and my shipping cost was $8.00.

    Have a Rawkin' Day!

    Blessings and peace,

    Marcia

jaffe bros use to have some good deals, but i know the prices got raised over the past year. but that company and nutsonline isnt all raw so u need to ask first. most of bulkfoods isnt raw thats why its so cheap. i get almonds and cashews from dimondhealth.com because they're raw and organic.

This company claims that their nuts have not been exposed to heat in any way.

Tree of Life is a good company to buy truly raw nuts, dried fruit, and raw living oils from. Do a Google for them :)
