Default Queasy tummy after wheatgrass juice

I've just begun growing and juicing my own wheatgrass. I'm so disappointed that after drinking an ounce or two of wheatgrass juice, followed by a little water, my tummy feels queasy. I don't feel nauseous at all, but my tummy feels irritated. What to do? Should I cut back a bit to maybe 1/2 oz.?

I find that happens to me when I haven't had it in awhile.
I just cut back the amount. Its powerful stuff ;) I love it !

You should take less and slowly add more. It will make you feel very ill when you began to take it because it is So Potent. I use to drink it and lie down for a while. After a while your system will adjust to it.

Taysia,I get the same thing. It has to do with the cleansing power of it and your status at the time.I take it on an empty stomach as indicated, let it work for as long as I can, then follow it with some other juice or light salad.
It is huge for cleansing and oxegynation of cells. Dont give it up and good for you for having that protocol available.!!!

Interesting. This happened to me about a month ago. I had a single shot and my stomach was in pain for hours. That had never happened to me before. I now realize that because wheatgrass can be so intense, you can have this reaction if you don't consume it regularly. I think I just need to ease into it perhaps with water.

They ask you if you are used to it and had it in a while(at nice shops where they provide it) and then you can decide how much to have.I go for the gusto and drink two shots as I dont have availability too much. Then I wait for it to work and follow it with something so I dont get queasy.

artgirly, do you grow your own wheatgrass or buy it? When you say "wait for it to do it's work" do you mean that it actually makes your innards move? How often would you recommend one drink the stuff? Thank you muchly.:)

I tried wheatgrass for the first time on Friday and loved it. I went somewhere else on Saturday to get some and my was it stronger! I felt a little weird afterward and queasy like you said ... I think I will cut back and ease myself into it. :)

Islegirl,I mean "do its work" by having empty stomach so it will get right into the bloodstream and cleanse and energize and all that. Its amazing.
I do not make it at home.I get it at shops when I go.
The recommend can be as much as two to four ounces a day.But one has to work up to that.It is highly detoxifying and powerful..besides tasting horrible haha.
Oh and I guess it is known for cleaning the colon too.Diff for everyone I am sure.

have you read victoria boutenko's green for life? she explains that wheatgrass was tough for her at first, but after drinking at least 32oz green smoothie a day for several months, she was able to drink more. she drinks 8oz at a time some times! :O

i've only had wheatgrass once. i want more but it was $4 for an itty bitty cup. there's an equivalent size frozen wheatgrass shot @ a diff store for $.99 - would that be okay or no? nutrient wise, i mean

    Default Frozen?

Should I be greatly concerned about loss of nutrients if I freeze it for someone who needs it but won't go through the trouble of growing their own?

Do you still have enzymes left after freezing???
