    Default Food after flu

Does anyone have any recomendations for food to eat after they've been throwing up? About once a month I throw up until I'm empty---dr's aren't sure from what yet but I don't exactly feel like diving into a salad when I'm better. I'm so used to eating starches- but I don't what to do that
    Thanks

I found coconut water or vegetable juice with a bit of ginger to be helpful after feeling sick.

Does it fall around your period?
Do you eat anything regularly that causes this?
Have you been checked for parasites/infection?
How is your stool before this?

I thought it was related to my cycle or at least hormonal b/c it used to come at the end of every month like clock work...but now it comes at random times. I can't think of anything in my diet that would trigger it b/c I tend to eat alot of the same things. I don't think I've been checked for parasites, but I'm pretty clean, or at least I like to think I am. A few yrs ago I did a series of 10 colonics & a parasite cleanse. I also just did the master cleanse for 21 days. My stools are normal except for right before I get sick. It mimicks the flu honestly. I eliminate everything by stools first then I throw up til I'm empty, except my stomach doesn't hurt. It sounds crazy but I get funny tasting burps about 2hrs before everything happens.

Do the burps taste like yeast?
my friend, it sounds like you are having abdominal migraines.
I used to get the same thing really frequently during HS, now it usually is related to how much sleep I am getting. Look into migraine/cluster headache treatments. There are some very effective raw treatments (though not all are legal in all areas)

Abdominal Migraines? I've never heard of that. I thought migraines were in the head.
I don't really know what the burps taste like except for the fact that they are so gross I gag everytime I get them. They usually linger around the next day even after I am empty of everything then they go away. I will look into this for sure-thanks!
How often did you used to get them & was there a pattern to when you would get them? How did you treat it?

Migraines are spasms in the blood vessels that are expressed as rapid contractions and dilations. They are most common in the head, but do happen abdominally. When I had mine diagnosed everyone thought it was absurd, but we started treating them as migraines and the results were amazing.

Acupuncture is very effective. Caffeine can trigger migraines, but if they have already begun can also be an effective treatment (caffeine is a vaso-dilator, so it stops the pattern of rapid contractions/dilations). Intense excercise (a 10-minute jog as fast as you can go), and sex are good ways of aborting a migraine that has just begun. Lastly, almost all of the new meds on the market are derived from ergot, the same mold that is used to produce LSD. Many cluster headache sufferers have reported that a very small dose of several hallucinogens (doses that are small enough to not cause a "trip" are effective) is able to not only stop a migraine attack, but are also preventative and can prevent repeot attacks for as much as three months. Needless to say I do not advocate or encourage breaking the law, but if you find yourself in a locale where such substances are legal, they are an option.

My symptoms began in 6th grade. At their worst they were coming approximately every 21 days and lasting for about a week. They continued through HS and only in college did they really start to slow down. I have them now, on average about 3x annually. Usually when I have a major stress or if I go too long without getting enough sleep.

    Treatment History:
Imitrex - ergot derivative nasal spray
Migranal - ergot derivative nasal spray
    Fioricet - phenobarbital/caffeine/aspirin combo
    Prednisone - steroid

all of these were of limited efficacy

Accupressure - very effective as an abortive, limited efficacy preventative. Still use it if I feel any headache or stomach issues coming on

Rokal - Aspirin with Codeine Phosphate, most effective pain killer sometimes caused rebound headaches

Incidentally, many times migraines can be triggered by a food allergy. Try keeping a food log and see if you can identify any patterns. fitday.com is a great resource for this sort of thing.
