Dandruff Dachshund
My 10 month old dachshund, Bailey, has been having major dandruff problems. Currently I feed him Blue Wilderness (the one with the wolf on the front). He gets about 8oz a day (too much/too little?), plenty of water and about 1-2 times a week he gets a raw meal (pork/chicken/beef). The dandruff started when he was about 7-8 months old and he was on a crappy kibble. We switched him to Blue Wilderness but the dandruff continued (despite a more active, healthier looking dog). We began adding fish oil to his kibble about 3-4 times per week. This helped a little, but not completely, so we got him some medicated shampoo, which has almost completely gotten rid of the dandruff. Unfortuneatly, it only lasts a few days. After about 3-4 days, he needs another shampoo with this stuff. Is there anything I can do to help his dandruff? I would like to stay as natural as possible. I can't switch him to a completely raw diet yet (and I refuse to switch him to a vegetarian/vegan diet, so please do not suggest it), but if feeding him anything raw might help, I'm open.
