Default I started feeling sick from eating sprout why do you think this was?

I sprouted some lentils and left them until they where rather large with decent root systems. Basically I totally forgot about them. Anyway when i ate them i started to feel really sick and as soon as i stopped i would feel better then id eat them again and again id feel sick. Has anyone else had this experience? Why do you think I got sick was it because i let them grow too big?

probably it is because there was some bacteria that also grew - you have to be very careful with sprouts. I always soak mine in a vinegar + water bath after sprouting, and clean my sprouter very well with vinegar between sproutings.

I can't eat sprouted beans either, they just feel way too 'heavy' in my system... Maybe it is a bacteria thing like Panda said, but I used to sprout garbanzo beans but they just felt so odd in my stomach
