Just checked back and the special on the remaining certificates is even better now. They are selling for 70% off vs. 50%. You get a certificate for Cafe 118 with a $30 value for just $9 + $3.75 shipping.

Barbara W., I'll be in Orlando at the end of the month for a 4 day conference. How hard would it be for me to get to Cafe 118 from somewhere at Disney World? I won't have a car. I'd love to try this place!

I'm not Barbara W. but I'm pretty familiar with the orlando area... so if you are at disneyworld and if the restaurant is in winter park (I think that's where it is) it's a good deal north of Disneyworld. I want to say 30-40 minutes maybe? I'm not sure if you could catch a local bus up to winter park and I'm sure a cab up there would be pretty expensive. Is there anyone at your conference who will have a car and would like to try some unique and different food maybe? Other than that I guess renting a car for the day might be an option.. but I don't know if you'd want to do all that to go eat there.

maybe someone can answer about the local bus system though.

good luck! I hope you get to go and I'd love to hear about it... I love disneyworld and try to go at least once a year or once every other year.. so the next time I go I will also have to try to get to café 118!

Hi Jane, Luna's reply was right on. It is probably a 40 minute drive each way give or take depending on time of day so it would not be terribly convenient to get to. I have never used the bus system here so can't be much help with info about it but have heard complaints they don't run late enough at night. A cab would be an option however you could probably rent a car for about the same price and it would be more convenient. As Luna said, a lot to go through for dinner :) Enjoy your time here in Orlando!

Thanks, Barbara W. and luna99. I guess it's going to be too hard to manage this trip. 5 years from now I hope there will be good raw food restaurants everywhere!

As it turns out, Eva, (from this site --she used to live in Hungary) and I hooked up while I was in Orlando. We had a wonderful adventure going to Cafe 118 in Winter Park. What a delightful place to eat! Don't miss it if you're in the area.
Eva apparently had read of my search for a restaurant on this site. She emailed me that she was going to be in Jacksonville for awhile and wanted to visit a friend in Orlando. Adventurer that she is, she came and fetched me from my conference for the evening. We had just a great time. Both of us loved the food, and it was great fun to actually meet someone in person from rft.com!!

Thanks againk, Eva!...and all you folks who dialogued about Cafe 118.:)

Hi!! I'm so glad I saw this! I don't get to be online as much.

The gift certificates are gone -- but this place is very much worth a trip. :) I actually went there twice in my trip, once with an old friend and once with my new friend!

    Yum yum yum!

    Default Cafe 118, so wonderful

I was just in Orlando and went to Cafe 118 twice. I got a chance to talk with Joe, the owner, who left his job in the financial industry (just in time, eh?) and has put his heart into Cafe 118. This is truly gourmet food, I had some dishes which I have never had before, and of course the desserts were just out of this world (the pumpkin pie, and the s'mores, were both just amazing).
