January 2009 Raw Challenge Archives
Happy New Year! Welcome to the raw food challenge for January! Have fun!
Yay! I'm raw again. Anyhow, I just ate a gala apple and a raw food bar and I'm going to make some cool recipes today I think. Feeling excited.
Wooohoo!!! :) Nothing like starting the New Year off right, right?? Started my morning off with fresh squeezed carrot juice, lol.. :)

Let me in!!
This morning I'm making some purple pate to take to a rawluck. I think I'll wrap it up with some kale in nori wrappers. And I'll do some exercise ... and then go to the rawluck ... it'll be good!
A new beginning! Made coffee for hubs, ate mango for myself, and am contemplating just what fruits and vegs to mix into my breakfast smoothie!
A New Year A New Me
I am very excited to make 2009 a raw year. Starting with a 30 day challenge for January. Yay!!

k.. now going to attempt to make myself a virgin bloody mary with my new juicer.. :) Wish me luck!
new here & ready for the challenge!
my husband & I were drawn to the RAW diet after a very stressful 6 month period (a move, new job, a few deaths, a foster child, a serious illness in the family) throughout which we ate a lot of SAD crap!
I started RAW a few days ago at 100% & so far, so good. I am excited to be here...
today I am planning-
a green smoothie
some papaya (I need to search for ideas)
bringing fruit & veggie platter to NY party (need to make my guacamole & maybe I'll try zucchini hummus too)
something with green beans
leftover shredded zucchini with RAW marinara
Happy New Year!
Im in!! and have lots of left over guacamole from last night to eat!! Thank goodness I didnt go to NYC last night!! I would have FROZE!! being a raw foodie is kind of cold sometimes!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Happy New Year Everyone!
I'm so glad to begin the 30-day challenge. I've had months of raw before, but that was before I found Alissa Cohen. As someone who (long ago) gave up alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, etc., I can really appreciate Alissa's viewpoint that cooked food is very addictive. She put words to what I really knew was true for me, yet I hadn't been able to figure out how to live around that information. Now I'm able to let go of the cooked food exactly the same way I gave up all those other substances -- just for today, that is!
I'm planning on eating Alissa's suggested 4-week diet. Find I have trouble with lots of nuts sometimes, so I may back off later on.
REALLY EXCITED TO START 2009 OFF RIGHT! (I'm actually 10 days raw...)
Thanks for all the support!
Im new to the forum,. Ive been reading about raw foodism over the last two weeks, but never got round to doing it because of lack of willpower and Because i live with 5 other MEAT eaters! lol
excuses apart, I want to do this, im on a personal 60 day 75-85% raw challenge, ive been 60% raw for the last two weeks and my skin feel sooo good and i feel a lot cleaner.
Ive given up processed foods and im loving the green smoothies every morning. Ive made my own raw oat cereal bars with banana, dates and chopped nuts,, BUt as im trying to loose weight, im thinking of cutting out oats, nuts and dates and bananas until i loose the extra 20 pounds.
I would be looking foward to all the tips and advice on here,. i cant wait!
If I were you I would go 100% raw and keep the dates and bananas and nuts (not sure about the oats because I have been too lazy to sprout so far and I want to make sure it's raw).. it's so weird how when you eat all raw all the foods that you couldn't eat before without gaining bunches of weight now don't affect you the same way. :) It truly is amazing! But either way good luck! Glad you are on board!!!
