PLEASE help with morning sickness
I can't believe people say that you don't have morning sickness eating raw. If anything, it's worse for me now! DH tells me that it's b/c my body is more sensitive to any changes now that I'm raw, and maybe that's the case, but AHH! I can't stand this.
I am sick all day, but in waves, and B6, extra protein (nuts/seeds), ginger, etc do not help. It's that gross sickness where you can't tell if you should or should not eat, so I just eat anyway since I don't throw up. My body doesn't know how to puke, which I know is strange, but I only heave and nothing comes out. So I'm not losing any nutrients, which is good...but...

From experience I know that the only thing that helps morning sickness is time. Give it a couple of months and it will be gone. I'm not sure what causes it, but not every pregnancy causes morning sickness. I wasn't sick for one day with my daughter, and couldn't keep down one breakfast with my son. Try fasting in the morning, start eating fruit after 10 am. Very unscientific, but we all know where science has gotten us

I was never ill with Alex. However with the older kids I was ill all the time, in fact it was hard to raise my head with my daughter. Morning Sickness sucks! The only relief I had was if I ate celery. It worked well enough for me to go on with my day.
Sorry, I wish I had something magical that would help you.

the only thing that helped me was a 10day water fast. Do it if you feel like it,-just listen to your body. Good luck and get well soon

Ooh. You're brave, Eva. I went 24 hours on a water fast and almost fainted. My blood pressure already is extremely low. I can't imagine fasting during pregnancy when I already feel so weak. To each her own, right? :)

So sorry to hear this...
I went into my pregnancy as a vegetarian and the first trimester I spent running out of the produce aisle before I threw up. I couldn't eat or smell anything except limes. I tried every natural, herbal, medicinal, and folk remedy - all with no success- I had 24 hour a day nausea. (I wished it was only in the morning!!
Then, a couple of days into my second trimester, it was gone like it was never there. So just listen to your body and you'll get there soon enough.

my suggestion is to eat only very small meals, maybe only bites at a time. I would also stay away from nuts, and other hard to digest foods. like the others said, your "morning" sickness will pass with time. try some very diluted ginger water, again only sips at a time. hope this helps, and congrats on your pregnancy. :)

absolutely! just do whatever feels right for YOU and you'll be fine :) I wish I could help you out with this....I know how awful it can be.
concentrating on your baby and other beautiful thoughts would help a bit too,-I liked doing it and feeling all the LOVE flowing to and through us.
Take care! Eva :)

Never been pregnant but my best friend used to suck on crushed ice all day long. Was the only thing that helped her.

i would encourage fasting, too. morning sickness is an indication of digestion problems and is typical during early months of pregnancy. if not fasting, maybe more meals of juiced fruits only? and for complex meals, following food combining rules.
the goal is to make digestion very easy to alleviate morning sickness. :)

I forgot to mention that prenatal vitamins can also make you nauseated. If you are taking them, try to do it at night, before you go to bed. this has helped many ladies tolerate their vitamins.

hmm
i am having this problem now...terrible heartburn, but more like a sick burning feeling in my mouth/throat. once i cleaned my system out..it seemed to get better. now i have a prune smoothie every morning, mixing in with frozen berries and hemp milk to disguise the taste, it's actually not so bad. doing this and eating very little has made me feel 100% better over a few days.

On a slightly unrelated note - CONGRATULATIONS, RAENE!

Thank you, Rawstrength :) However, things aren't quite going as planned. I'm off to the dreaded doctor soon. I avoid doctors but I am too annoyed to think of a better option at the moment.
