Default Just got back from the Dentist

I was worried that his teeth weren't doing very well. He is 9 and started raw a few years ago.

His new teeth were yellow and there was a brown spot on the back of the front tooth. I was worried all the raw sweets were causing this. When we first went raw I gave him alot of raw cheese cake and other raw sweets because that was all I could make that he would like. Plus all the green smoothies.

The dentist says his teeth are strong and look fine and the yellowing is probably from when he was sick all the time and on antibiotics.

So, I just wanted to share with everyone that raw kids teeth can be healthy. But we are making sure he brushes after raw sweets now and trying to be more concious of the fact that just because it's healthy..it still can cause tooth decay if you don't brush after or rinse with water.

He likes a green smoothie at school for lunch..so I just tell him to eat his salad afterwards so it can act as a brush and wash out the sweets.

He is such a good boy and goes along with this raw thing so well. I am truly blessed to have him.

I just read about you and your family on your RAW website.....WOW....raw has really been great to you and your family. Isn't it interesting how your son could gain weight and you and your husband could loose weight on the very same food. Keep it up!!!

You are Blessed. He can also put a drink of water in his mouth, rinse it around in his mouth and swollow it.

Considering that hundreds of years ago the only food that people ate was raw and they never had cavities, your son should be perfectly alright. Of course too many sugary raw snacks aren't the best things in the world but, they're MUCH better than the sugar that the rest of the population ingests.
