well it's over, but
I'm glad they stuck with it for 2 months. All but 1 wants to remain vegan-even my 5 year old. As you remember she was the BIGGEST meat and dairy consumer from our family.
I'm a little unhappy that they didn't see out their commitment-and I REALLY was hoping to get them med free-but they just aren't into it. I told them that I was going to remain raw, and I would be HAPPY to share whatever I have. They are eating very healthy and choosing 1/2 raw and 1/2 cooked. Their lunches, most snacks and part of their dinner is raw-so I am content with that for now. They have still requested that I serve their fav raw foods such as my infamous buckwheat pizza, zuccini pasta, cashew cheese, banana ice cream. Alissa's crepes, buckwheat granola, seed candy, rawlmond joys and nut mylks.

Well, you did the best you could. Was there an incentive/prize at the end of the 2 month period? I mean WE know the prize is being healthy, but kids don't give a hoot about that.

At least you tried. You are one brave and strong mamma.

the commitment they made was for 6 months-but my dh, bless his heart, just wasn't on board. He really really tried, but at some family gatherings he was stuffing his face with salami, chips and dip, etc and it just all seemed to go down from that point on with the kids, iykwim? They were doing their best, but when papa gave up it was demoralizing for them and they just complained non-stop...I'm just glad that they were willing to try at all. I think I may have planted some seeds, ya know?

Awe, so sorry to hear it. It IS hard!! And my oldest is 4, I'm new to this, and so is hubby who still hasn't gotten into the raw flow yet. And I'm not even fully raw myself!
It's a tough thing in this world to get your family to go raw despite your best efforts.
But you're right, seeds were planted..your kids will remember what you've taught them, they'll remember the importance of raw foods even if they aren't all raw. That by itself will improve their health! And hopefully in the future they'll gravitate towards a very high raw diet.

I think they did Excellent. You have made a Mark on their Brain, they Will remember this and you are still setting an example. It is Hard for Adults to achieve such a task for 2 months. So look in the mirror and tell yourself, YOU DID GOOD.

Atleast they gave it a try. I help with my two neices that live with my Dad...my 14 year neice told me last week that she dislikes eating at my house because my food is weird (weird to her is a garden salad). The only veggies she will eat are cooked carrots, corn and green beans loaded with tons of butter and mrs dash. I served cooked brussell sprouts on Tuesday when she was over which she refused to even have on her plate. Now my neice who is 11 will trying anything I make and even request salads and veggies. You can not win them all over all of the time but atleast you can put forth the effort.
