Hiya Kristi!!! I've missed you (I've been away a lot the last couple weeks)

Purists won't use it, I love it. I figure I use about 2T a week at most. I appreciate the variety it offers for creating more raw food choices.

    Question What exactly is Bragg's??

    Hi Kristi,

I heard of it a lot and see it appearing in a lot of recipes, but what is it? Is it like soy sauce? What does it taste like? What does it add to the recipes, can they go without or is the dish just not the same without the Bragg's??

I don't think we can get it here in Belgium, then again, I might be wrong...

    Thanks!

I don't like the taste much, in most things. I much prefer nama shoyu.

I like Bragg's...never tried nama shoyu.

I wonder, why do some say it isn't raw? On the bottle it says not fermented and not heated. If it's not heated, it's not cooked...so why is it not considered raw?

I think that it isn't considered raw b/c it is made from soybeans and they have to go through a lot of processing??
I am not sure the exact reason, but I personally don't like the taste

I use both and love both! You can't just taste braggs out of the bottle (concentrated it doesn't taste all that great), but if you add it to things (like nut cheeze) it adds a very savory taste, that's sort of like nama but different.
