    Default Raw Chinnies?

Hey...the most awesome thing just happened. At 8:30, my mum was leaving for work, I was still in bed, and suddenly she called me down and asked me if I wanted some chinchillas. I was wondering if she'd lost her marbles, because I've been asking for pets ever since we had to sell our dogs, but she said that the neighbor was taking hers to the humane society, and wondered if we'd like to take them. I was delighted and decided that YES, I wanted the chinnies...I've wanted them for a while!! So we carried their cage over to our house, and mum took off for work.

Now...I have two absolutely darling pets, and although I am going to do some research, I'd like to know if you guys think Chinchillas can go raw. Their names are Prissy and Enchilada, but I think I'm going to change that...except to what I don't know. They are such dolls, though, and I'll post pics when I can. TIA!!!

Oh wow! They are the softest things I have ever felt in my life! I have no clue what to feed. I suggest you google your little heart out...
here's one to get you started:

    Here's another:

    BUT:

Corn, cabbage, and lettuce are "no-no's" as since they cause gas and are very hard on a chinchilla's tender digestive system.

Thanks Lucy!! And aren't they? I am in absolute love. I just finished cleaning out their cage, because at their previous home, an irresponsible teen was in charge of them, and the cage smelled like the elefant enclosure at the zoo. Gross. Now it's nice and clean, but still has a faint odour.

Thanks for the links!! I'm sure grass won't be a problem...I'll have to get them outside once in a while. Thanks so much!

Lol, no worries there, I luv these sweeties!! And Prissy needs a wee bit more attention, as she's much more shy than Chili. <333

Prissy and Chilli are the cutest names ever!
    What adorable chinnieees!
I'm sure they can be all raw. My guinea is mostly raw (i still give him pellets, but the best kind--no soy or wheat) and he's doing great
