Default i need advice on this business of soaking nuts....

ok... for ME personally. i can eat raw unsoaked nuts till the cows come home!
i DON'T have ANY problems digesting them and ALL!

i understand why you would soak nuts for things that call for a softer batter or coating etc. but if i choose NOT to soak my nuts for some recipies that dont call for soaking.... is this ok?
i mean is it going to throw my raw foods diet off the rails?

if soaking is to make them easier to digest ...DO NOT have that problem.
and as far as the enzymes go..... does this mean i wont get ANY nutritutional value from the raw nuts i eat if they are NOT soaked?

tell me what you think. i am someone that has no trouble with fats or heavy things. it would make last minute food prep SOOOO so much easier if i didnt always have to PLAN ahead to soak nuts for eveything.

like tonight..... i wanted to make some burgers but i forgot to soak the nuts!
now if i want to soak them overnight... i have to wait till tomorrow and TONIGHT is when i have time to make them!

so... what do ya think? am i still going to get the vital nutrients from nuts if i dont always soak them?

    thanks.

Yes, you would still get nutrition from the nuts...but...my understanding is that by soaking you make them nutritionally easier for the body to use all the good in them. Even if you have no "digestive" issues with them unsoaked your body will not be getting what it can from them. They are kind of dormant before soaking...soaking releases the life force and makes that available to you for your body to fully utilize. And it does make the finished product smoother, better tasting...less bitter.

ok thanks. i guess will have to soak them them but i hate the planning ahead all the time because sometimes i come up with last minute time to spare that i can use for food prep.
i dont want to derail my diet.... so i guess i have no choice.

    thanks again.

Almonds can kep in the soak water in fridge for a week, if you rinse and change the water every day. Many people soak, rinse and then dehydrate them...that way you still have the benefit of them having been soaked and the ease of using as you need them...they will keep indefinitely that way...may be more to your style that way.
