At this point I'm 90% raw and hope to be 100% percent by the end of the year.

    Wonderful. Congrats on the transformation.

Ummmm if you're single I have 2-3 intelligent, health conscious and beautiful friends I could introduce you to. ;)

It is, therefore, evident that it is possible to cure by foods, aliments and fruits; but as today the science of medicine is imperfect, this fact is not yet fully grasped. When the science of medicine reaches perfection, treatment will be given by foods, aliments, fragrant fruits and vegetables, and by various waters, hot and cold in temperature.

Thanks all. I started devoting myself to raw in Dec of '07. Although I used to eat some raw foods before that, I still ate mostly very large portions of processed foods & animal products. After doing some research about health, nutrition, and the U.S. food industry, it was a no-brainer to conclude that going raw was better for my overall health.

Shashibala: No I wasn't a runner before going raw. In fact I could only run about 2 blocks without getting winded and sore. But I kept at it because I'm a true believer that our bodies are designed for exercise and not sitting down most of the time. Now I run at least 4 to 6 miles 3/4 times a week and participate in running events monthly. I'm up to 18 events so far and trying to get to at least 20 running events for '08:

    Feb 9 - 4 mile run (done)
    Feb 23- 5k (done)
    Mar 16- 5k (done)
    Mar 22- 5k (done)
    Mar 30- 10K(done)
    Apr 13- 5k (done)
    Apr 19- 10k(done)
    May 3 - 5k (done)
    May 4 - 5 mi. (done)
    May 24- 5k (done)
    May 26- 5k (done)
    Jun 1 - 10k (done)
    Jun 21- 10k (done)
    Jul 4 - 10k (done)
    Jul 26- 5K (done
    Aug 2 - 5k (flaked)
    Aug 22- 5K (done)
    Sep 14- 5k (done)
    Sep 20- 5k (done)
    Oct 5 - 5k
    Oct 12- 10k
    Nov 8 - 5k
    Thanksgiving Day-10K
    Dec 6 - 5k
    Dec 31- 5k

Rawstrength: I've been 90% raw since April '08. I usually try to get some type of exercise in everyday. I don't do gyms because I get distracted too easily. I have weights and a treadmill (which I rarely use because I'm an outdoor runner) at home, plus I don't have any "set" days that I only do certain exercises. I like to have the freedom to mix things up. So my routine would be as thus:

    Stretching-daily
    Weights-2 to 3 days a week
    Running-3 or 4 days a week
Core workouts 2 to 3 days a week.

You give me hope!! I was hoping you weren't always an exerciser. This means I can be one too! I've lost 60 pounds so far with just walking the dog!
I'm working on upping my physical activity and gaining strength and endurance. Thanks for the inspiration!

he gives me hope, too! being able to run only 2 blocks painfully resonates with me.

oh yeah. pking - hate to say this, but your smile looks just as wonderful then as it does now. some things just never change despite what diet you're on i guess. :)
