Default Giant Belgium Tomatoes link--wow, a winner

My friend showed me tonight the most awesome tomatoes she grew from seed. I found this fabulous link of someone who I believe represents the type of company I want to support for my tomato needs. Giant Belgium can grow up to 5 pounds each! Now imagine 10 picked daily, sell 8-9 daily at $2 per poiund x 5 pound = $10 per tomato x 10 picked = $100 day x 7 = $700 week. This could be a min. guess too as maybe more to sell when season kics in. I'm getting excited and may aim for the sale, a sign on the road and open for hour only. Not a bad return for a hours work, but really keeping the tomatoes up, watering etc is key.

    Carol,

I'd want to taste one first. I don't know about others, but I'd have a hard time spending $10 on one tomato....ha ha

I have not tasted one, but I can say they are gorgeous to look at from my friend's window sill.

How about starting some from seeds? I'm surely going to give this a try next year.

I spent a fortune this year on veggie plants, but love having this freedom charging to husband's sprinkler business I can get away with it. I go for heirloom, the kind, but variety of all that are few pounders too for tomatoes. I love gardening and enjoy seeing every little new flower or fruit set.

$10 for a tomato to me that is a few pounds is not bad as I spend a fortune during the year. I know here Roma's on sale at $1.99 pound. In reality hardly ever see a tomato that is a few pounds either. My cukes too are massive: Armenian cukes.

Nothing like fresh from my garden however.
