Thread: What a steal!

    Default What a steal!

I bought a baby ponderosa lemon tree at the natural food coop today, and it was only $5! It was the second to last tree left and it looked so pretty and so lonely that I couldn't resist. In a year or so I might have some nice 5 pound lemons :) .
I am going to repot it this afternoon, because its roots look a little crowded. I'm stoked . Attached are two (not very good) pictures of my new plant baby .

I can put her outside in June, July and August, but she will have to come in during the winter. It's a good thing these trees only get to be 2-3 feet tall!
I planted her in some nice compost in a 5-gallon water jug. This morning I gave her the pulp from my apple/wheatgrass breakfast juice.

This is just wonderful. That is an excellent tree that you picked up, a great bargain as well. I wish you the best of luck in growing your 5 pound lemons. Absolutely stunning.
