Hi Lisa and Welcome. I too am in the 100+ range, or was when I started Raw. As of today I am at the 99 pound range and that is to be thinner than I have been since I was 20. It's been a long time since I could say that. I have been doing simple raw and the weight has been consitently falling off, not every day mind you, and even sometimes days in between, but it's a downward path. Yesterday I bought some new clothes to get me through the next month and took my fattest clothes to the Salvation Army. There will be no growing into anything I grow out of, because finally I have found something that works and is very doable long term.
I had to fight through tiredness and brain fog here and there, but with each few days of downtime, I re-emerge with more energy, excitement, and determination.
Yesterday when I was shopping, and I tried on some clothes that still looked bad I walked out of the dressing room a little disappointed, then a little voice in my head said "Don't think about it. You're going to be beautiful." And I realized how true that was. There is nothing short term about raw, it is a lifestyle wrapped around thinness and health.
Give yourself time to deal with detox, get your family to support you, and work out all your life baggage while you exercise. The forum is a great place to stay motiviated.
BTW I too would love to see an area in the forum for us hefty folks to discuss items dealing with weight loss and other issues that affect us more, like what to do with all that skin when we lose the weight.

I am having steady weight loss too. I know on days if I nibble around on SAD foods I know the weight is not coming off that day, but the more I stick to 100% Raw the easier it is for the weight just to melt away. Last week I had a couple of SAD meals and SAD snacks. My weight went back up about 4-6lbs. BUT It's not really 'fat' I'm putting on, it's water weight. The SAD foods I ate had high amounts of refined SALT. That always puts on the water weight. I made a concious effort the past two days to drink more (lemon water) and to stick to 100% Raw and this morning I was down another pound. I have lost 24lbs from my starting weight now. (I don't count the flutuations I do because of my slip up's) So that is one pound less than where I was before I decided to put SAD food in my mouth. ;)
I weigh myself daily, I'm not afraid of the scale, it keeps me motivated and knowing where I need to be on this journey. I know that doesn't work for everyone to step on the scale daily.
Anyway I'm on the downward path too and it feels GREAT!
I also would like to see a 'Big and Beautiful and Loving RAW' Forum too. ;)
Love,
Angie

Hi Lisa -- Welcome!
I think you've touched on some very important issues here.

You're so ahead of the game by understanding this.
I want to claim my health ... I deserve to be healthy, and I deserve to run around and play with my children and enjoy them the way God intended me to.
You deserve these things and so much more. You will be such a wonderful role model for your children. Simply by them seeing you taking care of yourself, they will learn to value themselves. It's actions that count, not words.
I have a lot of buried issues that go way back and I need to set those suckers free.
Don't we all! This step you're taking will definitely open the gates so they can leave. Keep in mind, however, that just by going 100% raw, your issues WILL come up and you can be detoxing emotionally, too. Alissa writes about this a lot (and it's been here on the forum in some of the better threads), so I'm glad you have her book to fall back on when you may be feeling low.
I am planning on going 100% on Monday...
Are you doing the 30 Day Challenge -- following Alissa's 4 week plan?
I have a horrible headache, but I have a lot of yuckies to get through.
I admire the fact that you know this ... so you won't be taken by surprise like some are.
You didn't ask for advice, but I would like to strongly encourage you to throw your scales AWAY!!! Your scale is a tryant. Or ... if you just feel too attached to those numbers, ask you husband to hide them where you can't find them. Then, just go by how your clothes fit and how you feel to judge your success. And, as long as you stay 100% raw, I have NO doubt you will have more success than you've dreamed of -- overflowing health.
