i am curious. i feel dumb, and i know alcohol in excess isnt good for you but will the occasional glass of red wine hurt in a raw food diet? just curious...

Yes & no! LOL Alcohol is a poison & a drug. If you want a little sometimes I say go for it but try to at least get a good organic wine (it;s raw even!)
You may want to do a search by clicking on the banana button because there have been some good discussions on alcohol & raw! ;)

I drink wine; it is RAW thank goodness....

Organic is best if it is available near you.

Yes, check the archives for some good discussions from the past.
The negative for wine for me is I am sensitive to it affecting
my blood sugar which makes me very hungry, and can lead to
    cheating on cooked food temptations
if i drink in moderation (1-2 glasses), this doesn:t effect me so much.
Also if you are pretty close to 100% raw for awhile the effects seem
a bit stronger, just so you know.
    cheers!
    Warmly, Punky

Depends on what 'vegan' means to you. Many wines are clarified with stuff made from fish bladders or eggs. I've read that the organic ones are actually *more* likely to use animal products for this than conventional varieties.

Actually that doesn't bother me since I am not Vegan
    :)
but it is a good point to bring up for those that do.
    It has been discussed in a past wine thread (search thru the archives);
I believe someone may have suggested some good vegan ones
or where to research it....something along those lines.
