Bathroom at school
Hey guys, this is a bit of a strange first post, but whatever! I added tags for my excessive details, 'cause I tend to get a little verbose. The questions are at the end!
I'm not raw yet, but I'm learning as much as I can about it so I can make sure I eat adequately. (I'm especially worried about calories, as I only usually get 2000 a day on a vegan diet, and even that is with eating a bunch of junk food at the end of the day to get a few hundred more). I don't exercise much, but I'll be exercising at least an hour every day soon, which will make 2000 calories far from adequate, I think.
But right now, I'm most concerned about going to the bathroom. Every time I've eaten raw for "trial runs," I have to pee at least every two hours. During the school year, I purposely dehydrate myself slightly so I don't go to the bathroom much.
I can't leave class to go, and I don't have enough time in between classes (though administration says we do). I can go during my 50-minute lunch, and I usually go twice during that time so I don't have to go later, but it doesn't always work!
What do you do about having to pee so much in a day, with school and all? Or does nobody else have this problem?
Hmmm, maybe just have dehydrated fruit for snacks at school except around lunch time? I don't know. I remember when I was in school, we had to deal with similar stuff but only with particularly anal retentive teachers that probably dehydrated themselves because they like punishing themselves too. A few smarty pants kids got doctor's notes for those teachers after the one kid thought to do this. Then the teachers couldn't say no.
Maybe you could complain to your doctor the next time you go that you always feel dehydrated at school but when you hydrate enough it "hurts" to have to wait. Bam, doctor's note.
P.S. I've heard of people sometimes researching so much with raw food and other things that they never do it. With this "diet" in particular, the best research is doing it. And what better time to do this than the start of the school year!? It really helps to clear your mind for studies the longer you eat raw food.
It has been many years since I was in school. I do remember using the bathroom at lunch and not many other times. We usually had a free hour in high school, and in Jr. High we had a 10 minute break in the morning after our 2nd class. Do you get any time like that? Are you able to leave class to use the bathroom?
The main reason I keep researching and not trying much is that my parents do not want me to go raw at ALL. I can't even reason with them. My dad refuses to even listen to me about it, and flat-out says no. But if I know enough, I may be able to get it all out before he says no.

We have -no- breaks aside from our lunch time. We have 5 minutes in between class, but that's hardly enough unless your class is right next to the bathroom (and both classes are near it). We're allowed to use 20 or so passes a SEMESTER, so I can pee 40 times the entire year. Not enough, haha. So even if the teachers will allow me to go, I can't go every day or I'll be out of passes after a month.

I am taking a gym class, so I suppose I can pee then as well. That might work out too, now that I think about it....
I used to hold it all day long..
What I would do is get a Dr. note just in case so that they won't be able to punish you for using the bathroom. Can you talk to your teachers and explain possibly that you have to use the bathroom a lot or will that be uncomfortable ? I wouldn't punish my body by eating/drinking differently though.. That's not good for your body/mind and they should accommodate your needs like that even if you're like everyday it's better than having an infection from holding it or something. Your body is more important than being on time for class.
OK, heres wat i do: one, i didnt tell my parents. im not suggesting you do that, im just being honest. it'd be best to start incorporating more raw foods slowly so eventually theyre cool with it. Mine werent at all but when they saw how healthy i was and how sick they were they got over it for the most part. two, i never count calories. It seems pointless. I cheese burger has like 350 calories and 1 cup of spinach has nine. Im not worried. three, i pretty much train my body so i only have to go at certain times. its easier than it sounds, as hard as it can be while detoxing, thats another good reason to ease into raw instead of going cold turkey like i did. Good luck ;) :)
