    Default Citrus Press/Juicer Questions

What is the best (and easy) citrus press or juicer for making a couple of glasses of orange juice or lemonade daily?

I often want a glass for orange juice lately and going to the only health food store that makes it here (I'm in south Louisiana) to get a $3 cup of OJ is not convenient. I also don't want to spend too much time on prep & clean-up b/c I'm usually rushing to get to work every morning.

I am considering getting the Breville CPXL 800 citrus press that Dillard's has for $150. (I have been hoping for a sale, but no such luck) It's $170 at Macy's and up to $219 at other stores. I did a search here and didn't find any mention of the CPXL 800. Does anyone here have one? If so, would you recommend it?

I have also read that the Black & Decker citrus juicer is pretty good, but it looks bulky.

I bought a $30 Cuisinart citrus juicer last year and hate it b/c it moves all over counter when I try to use it. Holding it and the citrus at same time isn't easy.

    We have two we love.

    Go here

Then click on: Stuff we love
    Then click on: Juicers

We had the less expensive one for two years before burning out the motor, then got the Breville. Have had the Breville for a couple of years now and it's still going strong. We absolutely love it.

I have the Black & Decker CJ525 CitrusMate & it's fairly easy and not big compared to the others. Cleanup is very easy as well. The reviews are good too. It's only $17.99 with free shipping through Amazon. Target carries it as well.

It could be worth it to get a more expensive one if it proves to be even easier than the CitrusMate.

Thank you for your hlepful responses. This gives me other things to consider when deciding if I want to hop into the $150 one yet, although it sounds like you are all saying that the Breville may be worth it.

Revvell: I followed your link and looked at the Citristar as well as other interesting items there.

Gilmore Girl: I will look up the CitrusMate online today. We have a Target here, so I would also be able to see it in the store.

Jen: 2 quarts and clean-up in 5 minutes? Impressive. The Cuisinart takes at least that long just get 6-8 ounces.

I have a $15-20 Citrus Juicer I got as a gift but was also available at department Stores. It measures the Juice out for you in a cup section, which is the bottom. I have had it for years and it still works. I am sure they still sell them and It will work for you until you make your mind up. It is electric.

I also have the Black & Decker CJ525. I LOVE it! Takes me just minutes to make a glass of juice and cleanup is super easy. I pretty much just rinse it off after each use and then run it thru the dishwasher every now and then.

If you have a kitchenaid stand mixer, then you might want to consider getting the citrus juicer attachment. That's what I use to make my citrus juice, and I love it.

After experimenting with 3 diff citrus juicers, I found the best one.

Breville-not impressed with at all & is extremely overpriced. It doesn't juice very well & leaves a lot of juice in the filter/pulp. Cleanup is a pain. It's also big & bulky.

Black & Decker CJ525-this is a good, inexpensive juicer if you don't juice often or if you make a batch at a time.

Waring PCJ2 Citrus Juicer-more expensive than B+D, yet worth the money. Juicing is extremely quick and easy and cleanup is also simple with only 2 parts to clean. This is perfect if you want to juice citrus often and prefer it fresh. I also really liked that there was no setup-just plug in & turn on.
