    Default Wheat Grass,Sunflower&Buckwheat Greens

For those of you interested in growing wheatgrass for juice and sunflower and buckwheat for baby greens.

Years ago I became interested in growing my own after reading several books by Ann Wigmore, so I built 4 10ft. shelves in my garage and followed her instuctions on soil mixing, and caring for the plants. I have to say, it did work, but I spent an extrordinary amount of time with it and soon lost interest.
I still want to grow my greens and wheatgrass, so I've searched the web for better and easier ways to do it. After several false starts and about 300 dollars later, I think I've stumbled on a system that will work. I haven't tried it yet but am going to in the near future. Here is the link....

    Question

    Hi Kirk,

Thanks for the link. I just might try her system. I have been growing wheatgrass for the past 8 months and having little success. It seems that no matter what I do I still get mold. I will try anything to avoid that. Do you have any mold suggestions?

I grow wheatgrass and would never think of spending hundreds of dollars on a "system". I simply sprout the berries and do it myself. You can go to Home Depot to get a suitable tray or if you have a Jamba Juice or Smoothie/Wheatgrass place nearby, you might be able to get them to give you one of their old ones! That's what I did...

Here's a simple guide for wheatgrass growing for decoration or consumption:
