    Default Coconut Oil on Face

    Hello,

I have read a few posts here about using coconut oil for acne and as a moisturizer.

After you apply it, do you usually leave it on or do you wipe/wash it off? After how long?

From what I have read, coconut oil helps to even out skin, heal acne and blemishes, etc.

If you have any experience with using it, please share.

    Much appreciated!

I use it everyday on my face, chest, arms, legs, etc. A small amount goes a long way. I depends if you wear makeup as to wiping some off. I don't wear face makeup so I just leave it on. It eventually gets absorbed. I also occasionally eat a spoonful to help from within. I can't say enough good things about coconut oil!

    Thank you, Cruditas..

Just found out about the oil cleansing method. I put the oil on last night after washing my face with warm ater and just left it on.

When you do the oil cleansing, how long do you leave it on before putting hot washcloth on your face? I couldn't find it anywhere.

I have only been trying it for 3 days, but I do see a difference. Was hoping more experienced "coconut lovers" would share

I leave it on because my skin absorb it. I don't put too much, just a little bit. On only use it during winter time.

    All the best!

Lol. If it is as tingly down there as it is on my face I may skip that use of it. ;)

So you don't steam it out of your pores at all? You just use it as a moisturizer?

    Thanks..

I don't wash it off. A little goes a long way but I just leave it on. I use it as a replacement for moisturizer on my face, body, etc. Also with streetsurfer on the other suggestion teehee.

    Update:

My skin felt a little dry yesterday and all I had was some coconut oil so I thought I'd give it another try. Absolutely no reaction at all - except moisturised skin. It's the same jar of oil that I used last time and that made my skin get hot and tingly. Must have been something else or a combination of the oil and something. Anyway, good news!

I have never tried the coconut oil method for your face. I sometimes break out in cystic hormonal acne (the worst!). But my skin is kind of sensitive. Do you think this will make me break out? Any advice? I'd love to try this but I want to make sure I do everything right!

Also, any recommendations on a specific brand? A friend of mine uses Natures Way, http://www.naturesway.com/Products/E...conut-Oil.aspx, but does it really matter?
