    Default Water for Sprouts

all I can afford to rinse my sprouts with right now is tap water. i.e. no water filters, bottled or treated water.

I don't drink the tap water, but is it okay for sprouts that I intend to eat?

I doubt it is ideal but there are a variety of methods that help to remove chlorine from tap water

    "Removing chlorine without filters:

    • Fill a pitcher and let it stand in the refrigerator overnight.

    • Fill a glass or jar with water and let it stand in sunlight for 30 minutes.

    • Pour water from one container to another about 10 times.

    • Heat the water to about 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Note that with the exception of the jar in sunlight, these processes drive the chlorine from the water into the air, from which we can still absorb it. "

You could also look into collecting rain water and purifying it (not sure how to do that or if it rains much where you are).

thanks shooting star.. guess there is other stuff to remove besides chlorine tho.

I love the idea of collecting rainwater and definitely would if it were my property.

what water do the farms use for the market produce? bottled?

maybe I'll get a tap filter soon. know of a good one for kitchen gardening?
