    Default What haven't you...

    ....done enough of?

As I was out walking this a.m., I was thinking back to a time when I was depressed and suicidal ~ from about ages 13 - mid-40's. The last time I considered suicide I was out on my motorcycle in Angles Crest Forest ~ a very winding, mountainous area where lots of motocylists like to race ~ and inadvertantly end their own lives.

Anyway, as I was riding along I was thinking how easy it would be to just run the bike off a ridge and be done with it. Thing was I realized I wasn't done because, I had not ridden that road enough..so, I continued riding. While riding I realized I'd not had enough sushi in my lifetime so, went and got some sushi. As I continued on, I realized, I'd not had enough picnics in the park so, took the sushi to the park. While at the park, my spirit rose as I watched the chilren playing and laughing. That was the last time I ever considered ending my life.

My question for you is ~ what have you not done enough of in this lifetime?

    I'll begin. In this lifetime:

    I've not eaten enough fresh fruit ~ had the juice of a peach or watermelon dribble down my chin;

I've not slept enough nights with my darling Dane

I've not walked enough of these streets

I've not cried enough, loved enough, laughed enough

I've not physically and in person met Rawkin, SweetLips, Jodi and many others here I'd like to spend time with

I've not taken enough showers (absolute luxury)

I've not traveled enough and seen enough places

Can't wait to see what YOU add to this ~

    Injoy ~

Oh I love this post Revvell, thanks for starting it!

In my life, I have not yet:

Spent enough time with my children

Tried hard enough to make my marraige a joy

Taken good enough care of my body

    Taken enough chances

    Written enough songs

Learned to play enough musical instruments

Spent enough time with my Higher Power

    Learned enough

    Laughed enough

    Lost enough weight Ha!

And most importantly, I have not lived enough.

    Time for change. :)

PS - You know how it is when you write or read a word often in a short amount of time? Well, the word "enough" looks very strange. Jeez, why couldn't they just have spelled it "enuf" already!

This is a very thought provoking thread. I read it a little bit ago and have been sitting here at my desk at work thinking about it. Here are some things that came to my mind:

    I havenÂ’t:

Traveled enough. Especially here in the good olÂ’ USA.

Learned all I want to learn. (like learning how to use the spinning wheel I have. And also things like weaving, a foreign language)

    Written a novel.

Learned how to relax and to just stop and smell the roses. IÂ’m a hyper person.

Learned to stop worrying. I worry all the time. Drives my husband crazy.

Spent more time with my husband Chris. I almost lost him in a serious boating accident 3 years ago, so I consider all my time with him to be precious.

    Taken enough walks.

Learned how to swim. (IÂ’m afraid of water)

    Met anyone famous.

Learned to sing so I donÂ’t sound like IÂ’m screeching.

Learned to play my guitar properly.

IÂ’m sure I will think of more, but IÂ’ll post these for now.

    Wow...deep thread!

    Let's see...I've not:

lived long enough to see my children and my children's children and THEIR children...

been with my loving husband long enough

made those millions everyone keeps saying we're gonna make

    been raw (consecutively) long enough

met many of the people I want to meet in person

done all that God has for me to do in this life

    helped enough people

gotten my driver's license yet (NO COMMENTS! grrrrr)

seen my dreadlocs (or my hair, period) grow down to my booty!

made it to back to WA state yet and lived there long enough

    been on a cruise

had TOTALLY spot/acne-free skin as an adult

I guess that's it for now!
    Detox getting rough?
    Let's "smooth it out"!

Well, I've been thinking about this a lot lately:

Haven't yet ensured my girls futures (financially) in the event that I'm not around yet
Haven't yet spent enuf time with my girls on weekdays....9-5 steals your life away!
Haven't yet been able to help my mother get that Corvette she's always wanted.
Haven't yet helped enuf other people get what they want. (Thanks Zig!)
Haven't yet retired on my terms, complete with wearing a sprig of mistletoe on the back of my belt on my last day at work...
Haven't yet had enuf anniversaries with my sweetheart.

    There are so many more...
I stand here in front of you at 180 healthy pounds....Anyone that can't see that lacks vision!
