    Default Is there anything one can do with potatoes?

    Just wondering what if anything one can do with them raw?

    you could juice them and mix them with other better tasting juices. Some starch or whatever it is will sink to the bottom, no need to drink that gooey stuff. But other than that juiced potatoe is supposed to be good for the stomach.

    I haven't tried myself though... ;)

    I've juiced sweet potatoes and yams before which are good, but they are very, very sweet as you might imagine. I've heard that Irish potatoes (brown potatoes) are not digestible by humans, so I've never tried those.

    I followed Alissa's recipe for chips, and they were pretty good. I love the sweet potato chips, though!

    i don't have a dehydrator yet--can you use an oven at low heat?? i will keep the juicing in mind-thanks!

    Yes, you can use the oven at low heat, but be sure to get a oven thermometer, so you can keep it around 105 degrees. My husband says he used to dehydrate in the oven years ago by leaving it open a crack, so he could better keep an eye on the temperature.
