    Default Gas

My dog has terrible gas, has since we got her a year ago. We feed her Natural Balance dry food which is supposed to be highly digestable. Sometimes we even hear her tummy making strange noises from across a room. Any ideas for natural remedies before she blows the roof off?

She is a mixed shepard, almost 50 lb., about 2-1/2 years old.

    Thanks!

Biologically Appropriate Raw Food -- basically a raw food diet for dogs but appropriate to their biological needs. That does include raw meat and eggs is the biggest drawback. Buuut if you're feeding any commercial (even high quality) mix, it almost definitely has meat in it anyways.

I feed my dog some chicken legs (3 small ones per day) and every other day replace one of those with a mix of a green smoothie and chicken hearts or other organs. I also do a mix of chicken hearts/organs with ground flax and an egg sometimes.

He's in good condition but has been doing it for less than a year so I couldn't tell you the long-term goodness. I know that some other posters on here do the same type of thing with their animals.

Thanks Eva. Never thought of GS for a dog but I will give it a shot. Do you debone the chicken legs? I still cook SAD for my family so I guess I could pilfer some chicken for the pooch!
