Imagine......
Everyone close your eyes and imagine a day when food holds no power over you. You enjoy the smell of pizza because its a good smell (like poupouri), not because you want to eat any. Donuts don't tempt you. Co-workers chowing down on potlucks don't tempt you, jars of candy and chocolate don't tempt you. Buffets laden with pastries don't tempt you. You walk by Cinnabon and don't even notice it's there. Bags of Doritos in your kitchen go stale. It's not about willpower, there's no exertion involved whatsoever. Your first thought when you travel to a new city is "where can I find fruit" NOT "I wonder what's on the room service menu." Leaving a grocery store with bags of fruit and veggies makes your heart sing and your step light.
Raw will bring you to this delightful place! Think of it as a peaceful oasis in the middle of food chaos. This is the reward that waits for you once you get over the hump of detox. It's not even that hard to do...follow Alissa's advice and others that have found their way here. There's lots of room! Come join us!

Smasty,
This really choked me up, really, because its so true, but it is hard to image it until you get there. ItÂ’s like a new world being reveled to you once you cross the bridge. Its hard to even explain to people what its like. The amazing thing is that once you do it, you begin to get glimpses of this within days... within weeks you start to really feel it and within a short time after that your living it.
If and when you chose to go off of raw you easily slip back into the other space, sometimes not even knowing that your back there in numbsville, but once you go back again to raw, the truth is even easier to see and your lifted into that magical space again.
I love what you wrote, beautifully said!

Smasty,
I love that, and it is amazing how quickly the desire for junk goes away.
Saturday I had to go to a surprise birthday dinner at an Italian restaurant, figured I'd just fall off the wagon for that one night, ordered a meal, ended up eating just a few tiny bites, then I realized I didn't even LIKE it....amazing....it went in a box to bring home, why?! ha, so I could toss it?(no one noticed by the way, there was alot of talking and fun.) I did fall Monday, but have made the commitment to go 30 days, as of today. Really don't forsee major problems either, raw feels so right to me.
Thanks for the word picture, perfect.

Imagine......
I can't say I'm totally there yet, but I am definitely on my way. There are many things that don't tempt me anymore and I LOVE to leave the store with nothing but fruits and veggies. Thanks for that..... :)

Sue,
How beautiful and the wonderful thing about it is that it can happen, it is not far fetched, it is reality.
Bless you

I am imagining!
What a wonderful thread. Beautifully said. I feel that I am already with one of my feet in that fantastc world. It is happening! For example, when I think of watermelons, I salivate ... Durians hmmm ... Fresh sweet strawberries, juicy crunchy apples, dark sweet grapes, soft juicy greens yummm .... What a feast! Aren't I lucky?

I am imagining! I have been 95% raw for a week--no junk food! Have been veg. for 4 yrs and 90% vegan--would eat ice cream and choc. though. Now being on the 30 day challenge--my 2nd day, i think i should want the supper i cook (bleh!) for my boys and hubby and have taken a tiny bite just to spit it in the garbage as i know i don't need it. I don't even worry about the nutrients as i know i will eat way better this way than even veg. That is what always bothered me about veg. is that food was still processed! Soy milk, which i gave my 1st son almost exclusively his 2nd year, is so processed--if only i knew what i know now. They now both drink almond milk i make every morning. Now i want to imagine my whole family raw--well at least my boys! Learning all the time and this board is helping me as i slowly explore it. Thanks to all who share here!

Smasty,
Thank you for this thread. :)
One thing I would like to add is "sickness and diease have become a thing of the past and not the norm."
