My manbear has diabetes. But not for long. Since becomming raw in January he has lost 30 lbs. He's off his cholesterol meds and has reduced his insulin by half. He was taking a slow acting shot and a fast acting shot every morning and every evening for the last 14 years. His doctor was amazed during his last check up. And she's a military doctor at that! She says keep doing what he's doing and he'll be off insulin in a few months. She totally supports our raw lifestyle which really motivates him more. I think the key to sticking with this is being creative in the kitchen. The craving dissapear and your're never hungry! We're both 54 and feel really good. We blew it once for a few weeks and everything came back. We won't be doing that again. Were back on track and his blood sugars are normal again. We love raw and it has brought us closer. It's also fun when you're doing it with someone else. Hope this helps you.
