Just an update--IttyBitty passed on today.
She led a good life and got to eat lots of yummy raw food :)
Mama to ten, she is now with two of her babies <3
any energies are greatly appreciated

Not to increase the grief after the passing of your rat, but I just wanted to point out that rat's simply cannot be on a 100% vegetarian diet. They do need animal fats in their diet or they can suffer poor health. It would be akin to giving cats plant products. They need those animal fats and proteins to successfully utilize nutrients for growth and repair while staying in tip top shape.
If anyone wants to increase the nutrition for their rats, I do heartily suggest putting in a wide range of fresh food items. Fruits, vegetables and a few leafy greens now and then, but please don't remove their lab blocks from their diet.
Too often rats pick and choose what tastes good rather than what they really need. The only way to really avoid this is to offer lab block 24/7 and give them a bowl of mixed fruits and veggies to snack on. You want to enrich their diet, but not remove anything they really need.
There are many MANY websites with different schedules and what to feed and how much. The rats on these diets are GORGEOUS too.
I can guarantee you that no fancy rat breeder or owner in the US or Europe would knowingly tell someone to feed a rat 100% vegetarian, or 100% home mix. It does have detrimental side effects since we have no means to measure if we are giving them what they really need.
If any of your other rats develop symptoms of an RI, ask the vet for a culture and insist that they do it. Most likely it was Myco finally taking over a weakened immune system. It does get worse as rats get older. Myco can be managed but not eliminated.
Again, very sorry for your loss, but I hope I was able to help you further with your little ratties.
