    Yasou!
It's good to know that there are other raw Greeks out there. I live in the U.S. but my grandparents are from Greece.
Thessaloniki is so beautiful. You are so lucky to be where you are.
Have you been to www.therawgreek.com ? It's a good website for finding raw Greek food recipies.

Hi Welcome! How wonderful to see the raw food movement being spread world wide. I'm curious what kind of raw food you have available there.

As far as your question about the tea and coffee, the majority of raw foodists eventually find that they want to stop drinking coffee and black tea. The caffeine is unhealthy over time. Many raw foodists, however, still drink herbal tea. I had a hard time quitting coffee. I had to edge it out of my life by drinking more and more green juices.

Keep in touch! We'd love to hear about your raw food life over in the Mediterranean. :)

    Welcome.
I drank tea for a long time after going raw. It is hard for an Irish person to give up tea.
I no longer need or want it but it helped me to stay raw at the beginning.
If you find that it helps then it is not the worst thing that you can do.

Heheheh:) thank you for the welcome messages and the answers about tea... i personnaly ...aint yet totally raw.. one problem is also that some ingrediends as agave syrup are hard to find or really expensive but i try.. i passed a period of 2 weeks totally raw and then.. started slowly to go out of it then i decided to make the forum so that i slowly come back this time and i learn among other greeks the necessary things.

I adore herbal tea and herbs i also like holistic approach in medicine so that is one orientation as well as the animal protection thing in which i m very sensible and which made me vegan.
Raw comes for my health after all that.

I also like the Fairtrade products and we have two stores here in athens and thessaloniki.

The Organics is a must for me.

So those are the basic orientations of the forum here.
Yes i know Gina Panayi who made the greekraw site and i hope she joins us soon too.

Mostly here we have the mediterranean vegetables and they start organic farming so i hope we ll have soon good aorganic products so that the planes from brasil Usa etc dont pollute the air to bring us the brazil nuts and papayas

Rawdelice, I am greek but I write in english out of respect to this forum.
I've found the greek raw forum sth like a year ago but it was not active. What happened? Is there any new forum to replace it? I've searched and searched but with no results. Having a forum in your native language, talking to people who knows where to find products in your city is more than helpful, and I would gladly be part of the greek community too.
    Thanks!
