composting.....rabbits???
A friend of mine bought a rabbit for their little boy, for Christmas. Did I hear somewhere that rabbit "waste" is good for composting? If so, how much?
I also really want to start composting......how is the best way? I'm not sure I can afford an expensive set up, but I could surely use some ideas. Thanks.
getting ready for this years garden

Thank you for the links, I am also quite interested in this as well. I tried composting once before, but no matter what I did... the coons still got into it and made a mess. This time, I think that I am going to buy one of the off the ground/spinning units before I attempt again.

If I didn't have three cats and a dog running around the house already I would definitely get one or two rabbits. My daughter had a rabbit for a few years and it made a great pet. They can be litter trained like cats and can have just as much personality as a cat (good or bad). At the time, my daughters rabbits got along great with the cats and dog we had a the time and even played together. I wouldn't trust the cats we have now with one though unfortunately. One negative that comes to mind is that they like to chew so you have to be a bit careful about electrical cords.

a few of my cats love to chew electric cords too.
I had no idea rabbits could be just like regular pets. i had some when I was little, and they were kept outside in a cage, and constantly reproduced but each time the babies would die. eventually the parent rabbits died/got eaten by a neighbor dog. sad !

we have two rabbits but they pretty much stay in their enormous cage (home made) and just get some pets by my daughter. they are her bunnies in her room. neither one likes to come out of their enclosure though... odd bunnies that they are LOL
but they sure love treats! helps having a rawbie in the house... i have lots of scraps for them.

We have 5 WONDERFUL house bunnies living here with us. They are 100% "free range", except at night and when were on holiday, when they go into 2 floor hutches (indoor)! So rather spoilt people think. But we only treat them that way because they are just like little dogs or cats. Truly. Such wonderful and distinct characters every single one has, some of the best friends ive ever had!
Fae (the white one in my pic) does tricks and comes when you call her. They all know their names and are litter trained. They do chew but rarely on things theyre not supposed to. Love them love them!
But im getting a tad off topic (!):) About composting, im researching this too, i dont know much about it at all, but HAVE heard that bunny poop is excellent
Ill do some more reading
