Default Not so happy Caravan of Dreams review....

Let me start by saying that I love this restaurant. LOVE IT. I think it's amazing that they serve cooked and raw vegan food with such an extensive menu. I've been there quite a few times now and I am almost never disappointed. Until Saturday night.

While the food is still really, really good (they had a new special Saturday. Live Spinach Pie. Yum!) the service leaves MUCH to be desired these days. I had heard from a few friends that this was starting to happen but I didn't think it would be that bad. It was pretty bad.

First of all, the servers (although fairly pleasant) all had a dazed, unfocused look to them. I mean all of them. And I got to see a few of them because by the end of our three course meal, we'd had three different waiters. Three people taking our order.

First we ordered drinks and apps. I had a coconut shake & msm water and the live love boat app. Anthony got a ginger drink and the live hummus plate. Our appetizers were done and dusted for 25 minutes before anyone even came back to take our entree order! By that point I really want to say eff it, but I so rarely go out to eat raw food that I decided to stick it out. 30 minutes later the third and final waiter brought Anthony's cooked almond ravioli and let me know that the live sampler I wanted was not available. I switched up to the special while inwardly seething that no one had mentioned this to me earlier. About 15 minutes after that I finally had my entree.

The food was great but the experience was just bad. I've never had it be like that there before! I truly hope they get it together, because it's a much better restaurant then that. Not going to stop me from going there, I like to support the cause, I'm just saying: they need work.

    Much love-Emilie

What a disappointment! Having been a server myself for 12 years (YIKES!) I take it personal when the service is crappy and there is no reason for it. Sorry you had such a sad experience.

Can you give the managers some constructive criticism in hopes of changing for the better? I wonder what was up with the dazed and confused waitstaff. Are they B-12 deficient? ha ha
