    Default Cucumber Juice

I just wanted to post that I like cucumber juice now! Is that not crazy? I hated it the first few times I tried it. I am drinking it straight on the rocks (ice) with a little sea salt. Sometimes I put it in a fancy glass and rim the glass with olive oil and rub the edge in sea salt. It looks like a really green margarita. When I am low on my leafy green intake for the day I add some Romaine or Spinich.

I will have to re-try this because I sure did not care for cucumber in juice form--adore using slices for all my spreads and pates. Since there are so many health benefits from this juice, maybe it will grow on me.

YAY! My new fave! I like it with a tiny bit of lemon and an apple juiced.
In a martini glass with ice. YUM-O!

Okay, I'm digging out my fancy glasses to give this a new go. The benefits of nicer skin, hair and nails is enticement alone.

Thank you for the great thread.

YUMMY! I agree! Went to the juice bar this AM because I was running late and needed some cuc juice for the day, and he was out of cucumbers. Ugh! Very disappointing. I am going to get more tonight! :)

    Default cuc juice

    joyfulGirl,

Thanks for the heads up. I use it in my green juice in the mornings but I have not tried it alone. I will try it tonight, in a fancy glass, with a little sea salt around the rim. It might add a little spice to my night ;)

    Thanks,
    Lucky Lady

I think if you don't use the seasalt it taste bland. Also try to choose the best cucumbers. I like the smaller dark green ones. I have noticed that the ripeness/freshness of the fruit or veggie in is so important when making anything raw. I am also buying all organic if I can find it and it is not outrageously over priced.

Yes - fancy glasses and best china makes this food journey a blast
And cucumber juice is excellent with dash of lime juice, salt, pepper and very cold! I wonder if the tiny paper umbrella and a slice of lemon would make it even better:)

Do you guys peel the cucumber when you juice it?
It takes humility and grace to not be attached to what you eat, do, think, believe. I'm not saying attachments are bad. I just think they too have their time and space.

I prefer the long English cucumbers to the standard cucumber found in the store. The former is more bitter tasting. I also like to combine with celery and a green apple (less sugar).

And yes, I peel the cucumber if it is non-organic. They are heavily waxed. Otherwise, the outer skin is excellent for your skin!
