Hello everyone, just a quick question. Could someone give me tips or advice on the best things and the best ways to sprout? Thanks!

My favourites are alfalfa sprouts, sunflower and broccoli sprouts. The way that I found that works best for me is to use a regular glass-jar with cheesecloth on the opening fastened with a rubberband. I soak the seeds for X hours depending on what kind of seed. Let them dry and then I rinse them 2-4 times daily. It's really easy and there really is no need for expensive sprouting trays etc :)

    Good luck!

I love mung beans and sunflower seeds, they are great in salads. And I also use the mason jar method, it's the easiest. I bought some plastic screen lids, that fit unto the jars, for easy rinsing and draining. :)

    Question

Please excuse my ignorance but what is the mason jar method of sprouting.
I would really love to get into growing my own sprouts and have been searching the internet for some sites that give very clear instructions on what to do (unfortunately I'm a bit of a black and white person and like everything laid out exactly rather than being creative with how to do things). I did come across some useful instructions somewhere but do you think I can locate it now? so if anyone knows of any useful sites etc.. it would be fantastic.
    Thanks once again

PS I can't quite figure out what lol means on peoples messages? please fill me in and then I will kick myself later wondering why I didn't think of that myself.

    Thanks

I used and liked the Bio-Salad trays in the past (for sprouting crimson clover for birds), and am disappointed that they don't seem to be available any more. Any thoughts on the SproutMaster trays? I'd think that the opaque trays would be undesirable wrt no light getting to the sprouts, but maybe I'm all wet. Thoughts?
