    Default Eye Sight

I'm fairly new to raw and this forum. I'm thrilled to find this over 50 group.

I'm curious, has anybody had good results in improving their eyesight by eating raw? My eyes have seemed to gotten worse these last few months and my reading glasses need to be stronger.

I'm hoping eating raw will help with this.

Yes, definitely. I wear contact lenses, which can correct my far away vision and as you probably know, the up close vision can start to go as we age.

I am not reaching for my reading glasses nearly as much as I have in the past and I'm finding that I'm reading labels (you know the type that are printed in that negative 2 font?) without reaching for them as well.

(I'm not over 50) but I know that Storm Talifero, who's another name in raw foods, reports improvement in his eyesight after being raw for a long time.

I have been raw for two and a half years now and my reading glasses are 2.75.
In the beginning it was one of the aspects of my life that I wanted most to improve but as time went on I have come to realise that there are more important things for my raw diet to work on such as making sure that I do not get cancer etc so if my eyes do not improve I am not going to fret about it.

In time your eyesight will improve with raw or at least it won't deteriorate. Eat more fruits like blueberries and other berries which have high lutein and zeaxanthin for ocular health. Also vitamin A helps improve eyesight. Carrots, pumpkin, squash, and spinach are high in Vit A. and of course lycopene in tomatos help alot.

I have worn glasses all my life --since was 7 and now I'm 66. I am nearsighted and now, aging, far sighted. Every other year it seems, I have to get a new prescription as my eyes have "changed", that is "gotten worse". I had my eyes checked today and they were 2 steps improved! I ws amazed. I've been raw almost a year and wondered if my eyes would improve, and so they have. Starborne, maybe your eyes have changed for the better as well. I was having more and more trouble reading lately, and I thought it was because my eyes had gotten worse. Not so. They are better.

    Blazen Jane-
Thanks for your personal testimony. I'm currently not raw, and moving into it by doing a master cleanse and then going 90% or so raw.

I, too, have worn glasses from the age of 7, and when I got contacts was thrilled. Now I have to wear reading glasses along with the lenses. ?!?

So in addition to the wonderful benefits of raw, now I can look forward to eyesight improvement as even more motivation.
