How are you storing it? What is the expiration date? Is it homemade? Has it been kept sealed in a jar in the refrigerator? Does it smell rancid and not creamy-sweet?

I think it depends on how you make it. I have a recipe in a book which uses orange juice with the nuts and it says this will last in the fridge for about 3 days I think. If you are using some kind of oil added to the nuts it might last longer. I tried making nut butter by adding olive oil once but it didn't turn out very good (I would not recommend this lol) because the olive taste is too overpowering. I still want to make my own nut butter though so I am going to try it out with a different oil, maybe coconut oil? What are you guys using to make nut butters?

I usually just throw the nuts in the champion juicer with olive oil and a little flax oil with sea salt. When its done (that is the jar is full), I add olive oil as needed to make it a more creamy consistency. Mine seems to come out dry without the oil so I always use it. I am interested to find out if someone uses another oil, how it turns out. Its the sea salt that saves mine from the strong olive taste.

Oh cool, thanks Todd! I haven't tried it with adding salt but that sounds like it takes care of the olive taste so Ill definately try that!
