    Lightbulb breastfeeding raw

Are there any raw breastfeeders out there who have advise for keeping up your milk supply? I have gone raw but this has not made a difference to me. I thought it would. Please help

    Hi Gillian,

I'm not quite clear on what you mean by "it hasn't made a difference to you and that you thought it would". What difference were you looking for? More milk production?

I currently nurse my 2-year old and my milk is still coming out fine. I've never really ever looked into what foods help increase the milk supply, etc. though...but perhaps some of the other nursing raw moms can assist you with that.

Make sure you are eating enough calories and getting enough water. Nursing more often will help bring on more milk, or pumping between nursings to help stimulate more production.

    hi

sorry to hear you are having difficulties. i second the idea of making sure you are getting enough calories. But I have also read that eating almonds can also help to ensure ample milk supply. So you may try that!

    I hope that helps!!!

I'm a breastfeeding mom! I used to sometimes drank the mothers milk tea by Traditional Medicinals and I also tried a similar supplement from Whole Foods Market that came in a little glass bottle with a dropper. I had plenty of milk but I figured more couldn't hurt! Now I just let nature do it's thing & I still have plenty!

These herbs are often used as milk boosters and are generally safe for your baby. Fenugreek is sometimes sold in Mother's Milk tea, which can contain other herbs that may not be good for your baby. Taking any of these herbs in high dosages may cause your perspiration to smell like maple syrup: Ground fenugreek, anise, borage, raspberry leaves, blessed thistle, saw palmetto, dill, chaste tree, garlic, nettles, fennel seeds, goat's rue, false unicorn root, vervain, cinnamon.

These herbs, most often eaten in food, may dry up your milk supply. Avoid them if you're trying to breastfeed, but you could use them when you start to wean — they won't hurt your baby: Mint, sage, parsley.

    Hi,
I'm breastfeeding my two year old girl and I have always lots of milk for her!
For me fat and protein are very important (more in a Email...) for me as a breastfeeding mother. But a the same time, to rest if you are tired is important too!
And more and more I can eat lots of veges (pure like mother nature gave it to us). I eat two times a day and beetween I drink plenty of water (and sometimes some pieces of cassia fistula; to help the detoxination).
Are you vegan? Do you still have problems with breastfeeding? I think to eat raw is the best way for you and your baby, but keep careful and open, to find the produce you need!
