juicing veggies...
After 2 years of raw my gut is still a mess. The green smoothes were killing me. I am trying a low fiber approach to see if at this point it makes the difference. I just got my Omega 8003 and it is wonderful. I'm quite pleased. However I am looking for some good information on juicing. I am not really interested in juicing fruits, just veggies. I was wondering if there was a good book out there that was veggie/greens/herbs heavy and talked about the medicinal uses. I prefer technical to laid back. Any ideas or recommendations? Thanks!

You might want to check out food combining.

I don't think I can recommend the best book, but I have Juicing for life and I am not sure if it would be in the top of the lists, it does, however have a section on the elimination diet which may help you figure out if you are really allergic to some foods. Maybe look for elimination diet help in line, but since going raw @ 5 mos ago, I have found the food combining rule to be more applicable than ever. My favorite juice is a huge bunch of parsley, and/ or another green leafy, if I am low on parsley, celery, green apple or a bit of organic lemon, and a carrot or two, listed by importance. I get bits of green velvet parsley cream that makes me crave what I know it's doing for my body. I just don't feel like I get as much from any other combo, but I am sure someone else has more specifics on what is best for what.

THanks. I have had food allergy testing (ALCAT and ELISA) I have celiac disease and several other food allergies. I do avoid them. I have tried several versions of the raw diet as well, high fat, low fat, no nuts etc. I've tested my pH. I feel like I've done it all! I've also tried acupuncture for two years, as well as several other modalities of healing. I am better than I was 15 years ago. I am better than I was 3 years ago. I'm just not healthy and symptom free yet. It's all a process but this has not been easy.
I have read quite a bit on food combining too. Thanks for that. The major thing really seems to be the fiber. I am far more comfortable now. I'm off to check out the Meyerowitz book!

I like "Fresh Vegetable and Fruit Juices - what's missing in your body?", by N.W. Walker D.Sc.
It was inexpensive ($7.95), yet contains quite a bit of info for its small (115 pages) size.
From the back of the book:
Deficiencies of certain minerals, salts, and vitamins can cause many of the symptoms of illness. Vegetable juices are categorically listed and their elements carefully explained. A formula guide, compiled by the author in cooperation with R.D. Pope, M.D. provides suggestions for effective treatment of specific ailments!
