Indoor Lemon Trees?

I'm thinking of getting an indoor lemon tree because I'm renting and don't want to plant one yet.

Anyone have experience with growing Lemon trees indoors or at least in a planter?

The grocery store lemons are blah. When I was in Italy they had the most awesome lemons - huge and sweet! You could just bite into them skin and all, that's how great they were. They won't let people import those seeds to America but I was told Melissa Lemons are pretty close. I live in Phoenix, AZ so I could grow a tree outdoors if I wanted, just not sure what to buy. I was also thinking of ordering Melissa Lemons then trying to sprout the seeds but I'm a total newbie to gardening. Advice?

Never grew one inside. I would check with the Property owner to see if they would mind me planting a Tree outside.

I would plant one outside and leave it as a "GIFT OF HEALTH" to the next occupant.
There are So Many VARITIES of Lemons and they ALL will GROW in ARIZONA.

And if it exist anywhere,,,,,,,,,,, IT IS IN AMERICA. ............IN JOY.

I would love to grow my own lemon. My aunt had a daycare in California and would let the kids pick fruits off the trees and eat them (lemon skin and all). A whole juiced lemon is very healthful but I'd never juice a Walmart lemon with the skin on.

We have a company that sells sweet lemons herein Florida. They're also suppose to be very cold hard. http://crowleynursery.net/ is their web site. I don't know if they ship the plants. And Arizona might have a very big problem with Florida citrus too. However, maybe you can find a nursery out there that sells them. Also do a google search on the internet to see if you can find a nursery - not in Florida - that sells the variety you were looking for.
You can grow them in big pots outside. I do that with my frost sensitive trees like mangoes and avocados
