Always happy with Caravan of Dreams
Seriously, I don't know what it is about this place. The atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. I'm always so happy with my experience. Often they have live music.
Their new live nachos are AWESOME! flax chips, guacamole and salsa with some almond creme I think it was on top.
6th street and avenue A
Something for everyone here, my non-raw friends always leave happy.

hi Dylan,
I always hear great reviews about Caravan of Dreams.
When I first became I went to the Village to see Gabriel Cousens give a talk on Spiritual Nutrition when his book first came out. I walked many blocks to Bonobos. At that point I didn't know about Caravan.
While Bonobos was ok, it was not all that I had hoped for in variety, or ambience. The staff was friendly, and being able to sample some foods was a nice touch.
Later that night I went to Quintessence, in midtown, which was a greater disappiontment, actually, since the food was costly, they served small portions, the food didn't impress me very much, and the place was tiny.
I hope to make it back to NYC so I can experience Caravan of Dreams and Pure Food and Wine. I know Pure Food and Wine is expensive, but people rave about the quality of the food and the atmosphere.
Ciao,
Soulstar

You will be pleased with Caravan!
But also, I absolutely love bonobos. I go as often as possible, just low key, fresh and yummy food. Large comfortable space you can stay as long as you want.

Wow - Caravan of Dreams - I used to eat there way back when... 95 & 96?? That's when I lived in NYC! Glad they are still there. Are they all raw now? If they were back then, I didn't notice and just enjoyed the food. And the ambiance, of course!

Since I just posted such a bad review of another place, I thought I would counter with something positive and respond to this. I used to be a server at Caravan and I can vouch that they are really dedicated to health, freshness and being of service to their customer's and supporting healthy lifestyles. The owner set up the entire place to have filtered water, down to what the dishes are washed with. The food is FRESH - no recycling soups, adding more salt and seasonings to yesterday's specials, serving food with rancid ingredients like some other places I've worked at. And it is always, always super yummy. I miss it so much! We live in California and are visiting NYC in March. We are already planning to go to Caravan. I know Pure is great, but we'll probably get some takeout instead and have an awesome sitdown meal at Caravan because it is so good!

Caravan was my first
Caravan was my first raw restaurant in NYC. It's not 100% raw, but they have a considerable raw menu. I thought it was delicious. I don't live in NYC but have occasion to pass thru or make a day trip, and I usually find myself at Pure Food's takeout counter. (Someday I hope to have a sitdown dinner there.) Nonetheless, I have a very positive memory of Caravan.
I went to Quintessence for the first time a few months ago. I liked what I had but it wasn't physically comfortable ... a small place and my seat was by the door on a cold winter day. I'd go again, however.
