I just saw an infomercial this morning about a device called the Aero Garden, which is a machine that lets you grow food in water. It's supposed to be faster than growing in soil. It looks kinda small, though, and I wasn't sure if one would be enough. I would LOVE to grow my own greens, herbs, tomatoes (all year!) and strawberries. But each is about $150 plus shipping.
Has anyone had an experience with this product? Are they big enough? Does it really work as promised? Should I throw my hard-earned money this way, or just resign myself to waiting till Spring when I can plant outside?
Inquiring minds want to know......

aero or not
I do not know---but I am about to leave the house to go pick up one I found on craigs list for $65 used once.So you might want to check paper or craigs list.If it works great I will buy another.Also linens and things has them and you can use 20% off coupon there.

I have one!
I have had an aero garden now for about a year which is before I started eating raw. I love it. I have used mine mainly for herbs and it works great. I have grown the greens and have just started the cherry tomatoes. You do not get a whole bunch of greens but it was nice having fresh greens available. Since I have purchased my aero garden I have noticed a bunch of new "seed pods" with different greens, a salsa kit, sting beens etc. that I cannot wait to try. From prior experience the herbs and greens last about 4 months if taken care properly (if I remember correctly). It is just as easy as they say it is in their advertisements.

For as much herbs that I use, I don't think it would be big enough. I wonder about the electricity that it uses too, if that would influence your utility bill. It sure looks cute, though!

Consider earthboxes
They run $29-$35 and you can grow a lot in a small area. They are self watering and use soil. www.agardenpatch.com and www.earthboxresearch.com/ sell similiar ones.
